Yes, it is called pathing blockers. You will find that among your Doodads there is a category called "Pathing Blockers" and to view whan arias these pathing blockers affect hit "N" - This will show everything in a light brown color and the path that is blocked in a dark brown color, or you can hit "P" which will show you the paths, this tool might be better to use, as it doesnt cover all the tiles with one color, rather shows the blocked pathes a pink color, and other things, like water, with a blue color.

You can also imitate the boundary thing, by implementing the tile of Abyss on your map. A trigger will run and check the position of your units to prevent them from entering areas with Abyss. In case you don't want the trigger to eternally run, you might want to add some regions, before the abyss tile, so that, when a unit enters that region, you will add it to a unit group, fire up the trigger the map contains and pick every unit in the group you added the triggering unit. Once you have an event Unit - A unit leaves (your region), check if the unit group is empty and, if it is, turn the trigger off.

Thanks for helping, but the abyss tile looks too messy (at least mine does with white stripes all over the palce). I'm more looking for a feeling of abyss, like when you're walking ontop of a platform and gaze down and it's impossible to tell how far down it goes... Shit it's hard to explain.

You need high hills to do that. In order to enable high hills, you can use this:

The same effect is made in Diablo III Warcraft, you can redirect yourself to their forum:

Here is a pic of how this "Abyss" style looks:

The fog settings are somewhere Z Start 1900.00, Z End 2500.00, but that's relative.
