Zombie Outbreak is a survival game which players need to cooperate in able to accomplish their given missions and tasks. Loots such as bullets, Medik Kit, stimulant, etc. can be found in some barrels and crates.


[EDIT:] I added the custom DNC for the next update and it looks great!!

Normal Zombie - a common zombie that spreads virus

Fast Zombie - a common zombie but runs faster than normal

Villager Zombie - a slow zombie but has greater HP

Mutated Zombie - a zombie that mutates if hp is less than 40% which has great movement speed but lesser HP (Kill it before it mutate)

Digger - a highly intelligent zombie which uses it's large sharp claws to dig underground and suprisingly come out in front of you without knowing. (Pending: Ability)

Licker - a zombie that uses it's long tongue to grab and hold it's target. (Pending: Ability)

Abomination - A large experimental zombie that uses a large kitchen knife to kill its enemy and explodes when his life is less than 15% damaging all nearby units. (no exception) (Kill it before it explode)

Tyrant - A zombie which is the largest among them, it may be slow in moving but bullets will not kill him that easily. It can charge in straight ahead stomping any units on it's path. (Pending: Ability)

Each player must stay alive and investigate the city without being killed by zombies. They can choose 1 from 3 different soldiers, the specialist, medic, and assault.

Specialist - is equipped by assault rifle which deals powerful damage on a single target.
Weapon Type: Assault Rifle
Cooldown: 4 seconds
Damage: 350 (Single Target)
Special Ability: Scope Mode - Increases damage but unable to move
Basic Items: 10 Batteries

Medic - uses a shotgun and good for killing a group of zombies.
Weapon Type: Shotgun
Cooldown: 1.2 seconds
Damage: 80 - 120 (300 AoE)
Special Ability: Sprint Mode - Increases speed but unable to attack
Basic Items: 10 Medik Kits

Assault - uses a semi-automatic rifle to damage enemies in line.
Weapon Type: M16
Cooldown: 0.25 milliseconds
Damage: 40 - 70 (175 AoE upto 600 range)
Special Ability: HE Grenades - Throws a high explosive grenade.
Basic Items: 10 Ammunitions

[ESC] > Enables the player to zoom in and out.

[Q] - Shoot - damages enemies in front.

[W] - Reload - reloads your ammunition

[E] - Interact - Interacts with barels, crates, levers, doors, and switches.

[R] - Radar - detects zombies nearby - Requires: Radar

[F] - Loot - Loots a closest item.

[D] - Bag - Gives additional 6 slots - Requires : Backpack

[A] - Flash Light - helps you see further in the dark
*Note:
Flash light runs out of energy when switched on. Energy can be restored by using batteries (Energy refers to mana)
[X] - GPS - Gives an information of your location - Requires: GPS

You must loot equipments such as Radar, GPS, and Backpacks in order to have their functions..

•Added ability Change Target
•Added custom DNC
•Bullets can now only be used by sentry guns and has 50 charges
•Removed reload ability because of the Auto-reloading system.
•Fixed the sliding animation thingy
•You can now access the laboratory in survival mode.
•You can now press other abilities when you are aiming except for radar, grenade and gps.
•Aiming is disabled for medic while in sprint mode.
•Added a floating txt which indicates the player's color above their character

I think he was talking about the terrain, everything looks to intact destroy a bit, but that's just my opinion.Good map and I would like ask when they do those maps of the month voting things?

I really love this.

I don't know why this thread isn't getting much attention,
But those terrains are aesthetically beautiful.

I know how hard it is to create a big city, even a small village like mine take a long time to create! Congratulations!

Did a quick first-try to the game.

I died after a while because I cannot find any ammo xD

Ill play more later to give you a better feedback.

Currently,

Terrains -

Environment is very well made, I have no complaints.

Gameplay -

I just wish that the sight range needs to be a bit "Further", why would anyone use 3rd person view otherwise? (I cannot see my back, thats a huge disadvantage.)

Shooting needs to give a "Feedback" to the user, sometimes I do not know whether I have shot the gun or not, probably with a gunshot sound.

The movements are a bit Jittery, especially on collision (You should check whether the frontal path its moving towards is blocked or not, if yes, DO NOT move the unit at all, and play the stand animation, this will reduce the jittery movement.

I suggest recreating the movement system entirely, the animations sometimes fail to work when you spam between commands, and remove "Cinematic mode", I cannot use my commands when the phone booth rings.

There should be a proper projectile system.

Why not add melee attacks? I see that you have the animations ready.

The rest is great, this is pretty well made, aside of the triggers. :wink:

Good job, Ill wait for the future updates.

Well.. you can press "ESC" to zoom out :)
There is a gun shot ... I don't know why u don't hear it xD

You can destroy Barrels and Crates just go in front of them and press the INTERACT button..


BTW, those bionic parts are for specialist.. they later become a robot.. with much more HP and firepower

Ok, i'll fix the jittery xD

o my gawd ..O_O need help! It can't be played in local area network because the map file is too big :/ what should i do ...?

in all honest opinion, it is advisable to not use those ;O

nobody would be able to play your map, unless they have that, what are the chances?

I prefer if you limit yourself to the file size budgets, you can use blplab to reduce texture file size without down-grading quality.

Yes... it is.. but it is still high xD it's because of the HQ loading screen and those large blps...

How big is your HQ loading screen? HQ loading screen sometimes takes 1mb+ of the filesize. I suggest either remove it and switch to LQ loading screen or do something to compress it ( I took down my loading screen from 1.5mb to around 700kb and only takes 300kb when you save the map.)

Also HQ loading screen usually use 4 tga format images (assuming you're also using that) but you can also use blp but it requires a differnt LoadingScreen.mdx. I have a blp version of my tga loading screen and they only takes less than 120kb and that will be more smaller after you put it on your map and save it.

Use blp lab and compress it to 50-60% that will take down almost half of the filesize but the quality is still acceptable.

All I wish is that you add a little lore cinematic and a disable Fog of War because I actually died thanks to it. I walk and 3 zombies jump me out of nowhere so I think that would be a valid suggestion for your map improvement. Good luck. :)

Thanks I really appreciate your feedback !! + 30% motivation xD ...I'm gonna solve my problem 1st about the size before anything else... Fog of war makes it more suspense xD I suggest this map is played more than 1 player:)

After researching on resolving my problem... I reduced all 200kb+ blps into low quality blps and the results are incredibly low size approximately the blps are now 130+kb ...
I decided to remove the mp3 that has 1.6mb size... and change it into undeadX sound..
I replaced the HQ loading screen into LQ....and yey the 12mb+ map is reduced down to 8mb+ :D

I'm having problems with some models... If I reduced the quality of blp.. the model is not appearing.. :/

He just use BLP lab and compress it to 70-80%. Quality reduction will not be obvious from long distance but since your project is 3rd person I don't really recommend it(its blurry in close distance).

I thought it wouldn't reduce its quality? I don't know how to use blp lab.. I tried it.. Save optimize then it only reduce small bytes :/

[Edit:] HA! got the map size into 7.98mb and now it's working on local networks hurrayy! xD

It reduces quality but not really visible but compressing too much will. Maybe you're doing something wrong since we'd been using blp lab for a long time and it works like magic for us.
I'd like to experience that magic....but I don't know what's wrong with it... it's my first time I use it.. :/ can you give me more precise instructions??
