Welcome To ComicBook Heroes!
Starting Game Overview
The game opens with 24 available Heroes to choose from. 8 are "strength" based characters, 8 are "intelligence", and 8 "agility". The number of players has been reduced to 6 for ease of use this time around. If you die you lose all items, skills, and levels. You have to go back and select a new hero. There are items to help with that like a "replay token" (reincarnation).
The game mechanics and view are the same as WarCraft. You can use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out with the view. The console works the same just modified the graphics. The upper menu does feature your basic choices like Quest Log, Main Menu, etc., but have added a kill count and how many times you have died info boxes. Under Quest Log you will find the help guide for the game. You will notice on the lower console the action buttons are the same using different Icons for stop, hold, attack, but have added a jump function to help get you out of trouble when surrounded. I had a better jump spell long ago which has been lost to time, so I will be tweaking the current jump spell or replacing it with a better version.
One of the bigger debates is whether or not to use the "health and mana bar" over all the units in game. A couple testers have expressed their views and see it as a minus. My point for not having them on the units is there are so many units on the playing field, and you can't see anything else very well. I have tried to find a way to just have them on the Heroes themselves only, but haven't found a solution as of yet. Plus, you have your hero icon in upper left corner that has health and mana bars, as well as the main console in lower middle has that information as well. As far as seeing enemy health you simply click on them, and it will display in main console. Please feel free to express your opinion or if have a better solution to offer.
Level 1:
Once you choose your Hero, you warp to the suburbs of Capital City where the dead have risen from the grave. You have to solve the cause to move forward. You will find purchasable items in town to help you in your fight at stores like McUpgrades and Ball's Sporting Goods. All fountains heal and give mana.
Level 2:
The next level is a bandit horde who have taken over the road to Capital City and their boss wants the resources of the town you just defended. You and your team must open up the road and get to the gates of Capital City alive.
Level 3:
Once you arrive in Capital City it's a mess. A certain goblin that happens to be green has overtaken it and you have to track him down and take him out.
*There are a total of 6 levels you'll need to complete to get to Dr. Doom with some side quest, but for now i want to concentrate on first 3 levels with all the Heroes having 5 custom powers each with 5 levels. Then I can concentrate on items and balancing for this far into the game making a good base for moving forward. Each Boss is based on some sort of supervillain and want to add some AI triggers to enhance the fight experience, tuned to each villain's actual powers.
