Today I was surfing around on the internet and saw an article that Blizzard's Battle.net was hacked yesterday, then I checked this on Battle.net as well:

http://eu.blizzard.com/en-gb/securityupdate.html

Personally I have nothing to do with Battle.net, but others who have account should change user password, recovery question, etc. It greatly affects American users.

THIS POSTS PURPOSE IS TO INFORM YOU ABOUT IT, AND RECOMMENDATION TO SECURE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION(S).

It seems the hack only affected US players (according to Blizzard). This points towards the breach being one of their game servers for the US region (SC2, WoW or D3) and not the BattleNet system (which would have affected all regions).

The problem is such attacks can even be inside jobs, where staff such as cleaners or server technicians perform the attack.

It would be cool if someone could hack into the actual computers they have and retrieve some source code involved in the keys so we can write a keygen :p (For Warcraft III, Starcraft II and possibly WoW)
People already have. Just keys are activated on a key-by-key baisis.

If a key is not part of the set of keys that have been issued for use, it will not work.

Then you can create a program that tests keys against battle.net and saves those that work. Scary thought.
People have. That is how all the Diablo II advertisement robots worked. Also that is how all the "cheap CD key" sites work.

It is common in the tech support section of BattleNet to see people complaining about "keys in use" that they have just brought. The amount of reports has fallen now as they demand they are sent via private Email to BattleNet help and support so they do not reach the public as much.
