Editing Skin!

Guys i really need your help asap.
I'm trying to recolor a skin. its the Textures\Ghost2.blp, I'm trying to change the blue glow thingy around it into gray but I keep on failing. I cant find any descent tutorials here on hive or in google. btw i'm using Gimp . please anyone help me.

I didnt want to post this in the help section coz it would take so much time before someone notices and they would probably just redirect me to some tutorial which i cant understand or which has nothing to do with my problem like always.

What kind of failing? A model's ghost still appears blue, or you can't change the texture at all via Gimp? If it is the former then the model might have Geoset animations that change colors.

yes Textures\Ghost2.blp exists ..

no need guys i've already found out how to edit them ..thanks for the replies ..

No I mean the different slash.
You used "\" while I think every texture uses "/"
