race: Chozo

Technology: More of a terran style than the Chozo from Metroid

Empire: Black SUn Corporation. Rules several planets and focuses on the developement of new technology for the protection of it's free people.

Appearance: Bird-like race

Home Planet: unknown colonized Shakuras and made their empire there.

Life span: about 200 years.

History: A young Chozo had a dream of an empire. He enjoyed science yet was an outcast in society. Nonetheless, he worked towards his goal and soon founded Black Sun Corporation. The corporation grew, developing new technologies other science companies had not managed to achieve, due to staying by the book and working for federal funding, had soon become large. Finally, after many years, Black Sun Corporation became the leader in science and technology, and set their sights for space colonization. The project went on, and eventually, Black Sun was able to build colony ships, traveling across the universe after probes scanned several hundred planets, looking for an unclaimed planet rich with resources. Finally, when the trip became strenious, the Chozo's colony ship found such a planet. It was a massive planet, unclaimed and untapped. Settling there, the birth of a new colony soon appeared. With the discovery of this planet, factory companies and manufacturers flooded in to take advantage of the natural resources. Chaos began to take shape on the new world and Black Sun Corporation stepped in to set rules. Four years passed by and peace was soon established with Black Sun Corporation leading the planet with logic and power. the population remained free, unlike so many nations where others stepped in to set in order. Slowly, the planet grew, keeping a balance between nature and technology, avoiding becoming a fully metal planet like the old home was turning into. Black Sun sent scouts to neighboring worlds, and received intellegence of new and possible threats to their existance. Issuing many orders for manufacturers to fill, a grand navy was constructed, it's marines trained by Black Sun itself. The populance became fearful of a dictatorship, but it was soon clear. Black Sun remained peaceful and kept them with their freedoms intact. Attacks began on the planet, and soon a powerful defense was organized, ships deployed for high security guards, scouts, battleships, the military was made. Black SUn wiped out their attackers and soon owned much of the neighboring systems. another 50 years passed and order was achieved. Black Sun Corporation was in control of their large corner of the galaxy. Science and technology developement was unmatched, and the defense array was completed. The construction of the BSJ SHakuras had begun, soon to allow the Grand Admiral himself to travel the system, controling the fleet on the battlefront, leaving a commitee with only their opinions, in charge at Shakuras. The commitee didn't like the Grand Admiral and demanded more power, but the Admiral knew that if they were to receive the wanted power, that they would want more, and soon take over the corporation, leading the new planet to hell and chaos. For many many years this continued until the Comitee finally gave up, resigning their seats to new comitee members, admirers of the Grand Admiral, and remained professional. (approving or altering the designs to make them as efficient as possible. nothing about relations here ;P) Now, Black Sun Corporation rules with strength and power, outnumbering many who challenged them. Their exploration of their new galaxy had just begun...

Yes, the Chozo origional homeworld happens to either be corrupted in another galaxy, taken over by another race because they weakened themselves due to political and industry corruption, or the planet died :P Civil War can do bad things for the unprepared :P Well, that is all :3

Race Name: Lashia
Empire: A single planet, Lashion
Appearance: Mid-height, dark green skin color that has scales on the chest, shoulders, and upper parts of the arm. Usually thin, and have a cunning look in they're eyes.
Home Planet: Lashion
Life span: close to human.
The Lashia are a "young" race who quickly developed tech due to theyr peacefullness. There were never seperate countries or nations, and they vallue piece and prosperity. When they set off into space, they noticed the trade and profit opportunities there, and quickly made several trade routes. They also have a strange supstance, a liquid which is made by a certain plant, it can and store enormeus ammounts of energy (sort of like oil), and it can harden normal metals and give them extraordenary "abbilities". It is highly vallued, and the main reason for the Lashia becoming rich in relatively short time.
Do not be fooled, though. Using the supstance above (called LGE), they're warships are a force to be reckoned with! They rarely sell them, and made them using technology they "bought" from other Empires. That is why no pirate, nor empire dare raid they're trade caravans and ships (Other empires dont have any interest in raiding, anyway). They never used them before, though, (except for defending from pirates, but pirates dont attack them anymore, they learned they're lesson) so they have no experianced pilots at all.
Another reason why they have no colonies is slow multiplying they're numbers raise just enough to remain the way they are.

Name: Koldir
Appearance: Basically almost like humans, however, they have a bit of a tinted skin colour, have horns comming from their elbows, pointing away from their hands. also, every joint in the fingers has a little horn-like thing comming from it, pointing towards the tips of the fingers (You do not want to start a fist fight with them XD)
Habits: The Koldir prefer a form of honor, they prefer to see their enemy face to face before a fight, they will NOT under whatever circumstances use ranged weaponry (Usage of ranged weaponry will get you heavy punishment in their territory), they also like honesty and generally hate backstabbers. As for cultural habits, they like pretty things and architecture, knowledge is pretty important to them and loyalty to friends is also very apreciated.

Name: Koldir Empire
Leader: Daldim Norlai
Military technology: The Koldir empire specializes in melee weapons and speed, as such, all of their war ships have wings, most two, some four, these wings are directly connected to the engines, ensuring that there is no damage to the ship itself when it starts cutting into the enemy ship, the edges of the wings are covered with small holes, that shoot out plasma and form it in a edge like form, to increase the easiness of the cut through an enemy ship, furthermore, the defences of the ships are concentrated near the wings, energy shields for example, are only used near the wings, to absorb any explosion that might follow the attack, the wings are the strongest parts of the ship, the whole ship would be destroyed even before the wings would fall off.
the wings make the strength, the body the protection, as for the engines, they offcourse allow for speed and maneuverability, which they realy have, they can be fast enough to create a great cutting force at the edges of the wings, yet be maneuverable enough to evade missiles, bombs and plasma bullets (or however you can call them) offcourse, it's only the pilots that are the most important, as they have to be able to use all this speed and maneuverabillity, most ships in the fleet are small, fighter like, however, there are also massive battleships, designed to crush hostile ships with their massive wings, these battleships also oftenly carry hundreds of small fighter craft, though they are rare.
Civil technology: majority of the people has stopped working becouse of a massive project that replaces people with robots, this way, people can all get the same things, it began with food, which is now being produced in massive factories in masive amounts, enough to feed the entire population whenever they want to eat, further there are many factories that create all sorts of things, only a couple of jobs are left without automization, the people who do these jobs, have the privilage to get customly made things, specially according to their specifications, now people only do things for fun, all scientists do so.
Occupied area: They inhabit only 5 planets, 6 moons, 110 star bases, have about 500 mining bases and about 300 wormhole bases. majority of their planets and moons are planets with large deserts.
all of their colonies are founded around 3 stars, 2 of which, are turning around eachother.
History: The Koldir empire started when an empire had conquered the entire world, that was just after the Koldir had build their first flying machine, after that, it went bad for a while, the emperor of the early Koldir Empire was a greedy and selfish man, he wanted everything, but gave nothing in return, luckily for the people, he died from a disease, the Emperors who followed, were more thinking about the empire than about themselves, making the Koldir empire grow and grow, they developed space flight and build a colony on their moon, this colony soon got destroyed becouse of a meteorite that struck it, that stopped progress to other planets for a while, though many space stations were build, and also some starbases, which were mostly meant to protect anything from meteorites and astroids, a new colony was founded on the moon, and it this time, was a succes, so they moved on to the closest planet, and colonized that one too, they found a small, stable wormhole, large enough for a colony ship to pass through, first some scout ships went through, then a colony ship, which founded yet another colony, several other colonies were founded after that, also, after loads of research, they found out how the wormhole worked, and succesfully replicated one, though the maximum stabillity they could get out of it, was 70% for half an hour long, after that it collapsed, so they build a ship that was fully self sustainable, the ship was called a wormhole ship, as the ship was able to create a wormhole leading to the homeworld, though it couldn't travel through it itself, so this ship moves forever, searching for interresting places to go, and allowing for construction of more permanent wormhole bases, this ship was constantly re-fitted on the go, for example, when they met an alien species, and noticed they were hostile and used ranged attacks, the ship was quickly repaired and refitted with fighter bays and fighters, at current times, they have found many races, none of which value close ranged weaponrly like the Koldir do, and so, the Koldir see just about every civilization as cowards, though they do have good relations with many of them.

lol bases inside wormholes? I don't really see the point. What if a fleet goes through that worm hole? They may make a detour and attack the base from a distance, nuking it and letting no one escape. D:

I like it Kamir except for the part about wormholes. I see wormholes as temporary short lived transportation devices so it would be impossible to build a base at a wormhole since the wormhole would disappear soon and the base would just be sitting there. And if you had one inside it the base would be utterly obliterated.
All are approved except Tahril's seems a bit under developed.

Is it alright if I develop my race over a little bit of time from a skeletal foundation? (I tend to notice that the history is richer if their story is allowed to unfold 'naturally')

And of course, I am Elenai, if I begin to god mod or anything with the race, simply say so and I can edit. :p

I didn't mean bases inside wormholes, I meant wormhole relay stations, they work the same as the ship, and work as points where the main wormhole station in the home station can link to, in other words, we have just one natural wormhole connecting the two planetary systems, which is the only permanent, the rest are all just temporary, that way, the chance of an invasion is decreased, but also transport in general is a bit slower, though still faster than just going.
