Map Info:

It's the year 2356 and Atta-Tek, a big mining company has sent one of their space stations to the newly discovered planet Zeta Carinae.

One day a worker of the station reports technical problems and weird sounds to the mothership.
So they send some of their soldiers to check it.
When they reach the station a strange calmness is on the station.
There's no one anymore. All workers are gone without a trace.
Parts of the ships are destroyed.

The troops must soon discover that they aren't alone on the station.
In this mysterious place even the hardest soldiers become crazy and fight against each other, face to face with extra terrestrial creatures who lust for fresh blood.

Features:

Multiple Game Modes:



All Vs All: (95% Finished)

Every player controlls a hero and fights all other players.
The one who gets the defined number of kills first, wins the round.

Alien Vs Human: (75% Finished)

Aliens fight versus Humans.

Artifact War: (Not implemented yet)

At random positions, Artifacts are spawned.
The players have to collect those and if they've got one artifact of every type, they have won. Every single artifact gives you new powers.
If you get killed, your artifacts get lost and you have to start again.






Alien Massacre: (95% Finished)

You choose your hero and kill everything you see :D
You have to kill a presetted amount of aliens as fast as possible.
At the end your score is calculated on the time you needed and the times you died.

RPG: (Not implemented yet)

Fulfil random occuring quests/events.
(e.g. repair the power generator, reactivate the air control, fight a boss alien)
Ideas will be taken by the original Dead Space 1 game
(And maybe DS 2 if my friends gives me his game :D)

Survival: (Not implemented yet)

Survive on the space station untill rescue is coming!
There will be waves of enemies, every wave becomes stronger and more difficult.

how about a cafeteria or even space, or something like the slums of the ship, with pipes around everywhere and steam can be coming out of the pipes? If you plan to add a crouch ability, you should make it so you have a better accuracy or some type of bonus, and for a fourth ability, how about some type of shield? i mean i'm pretty sure your talking about the marine guy, so why shouldn't the guy have some sort of shielding mechanism?

Thanks for your posts guys.
Yesterday I worked on a creep spawning system, but it still needs some fixes.
A shield ability sounds great, I will add a green sphere model as a shield and use the standard Mana Shield ability.

Yeah a cafeteria with some sort of bar sounds good, I will add that.
I think I won't make a crouching ability because you can't really see very far in this map and there are creeps everywhere, so tactical crouching will be very unrealistic and useless.
I think I'll add some kind of weapon room, too.

The more freedom i have the better it usually turns out, but it's allways nice to have some general Do's and Dont's.

For a signature i reccomend using the provided form in the first page of my Sig Thread.
If you fill it out and post it here i will easily be able to fix up somethin' for you. :)

Should be clear what it does, but I don't know how to say it in good english :D

2. Constructing a Drone
The robot constructs some kind of drone who fights for the player, it is kind of hovering and shoots red lasers.

I need some good descriptions for those. Please not too long.

1. Flamethrower
Should be clear what it does, but I don't know how to say it in good english :D
Shoots flame towards the target point and ignites every enemy unit that gets too close to it.

(I dont know how your flamethrower works...)

2. Constructing a Drone
The robot constructs some kind of drone who fights for the player, it is kind of hovering and shoots red lasers.
The <robot_name> constructs a <drone_name> to protect itself. <drone_name> can shoot lasers to its enemies for x - x damage with moderate speed and <some more things it can do>.
Lasts X seconds. (or perm?)

Good luck with map. Did you make that tileset btw? :|

Well, they are not real abillites, though, for example:

The aliens in the films have acid blood, meaning when it get's wound or stuff, it's blood comes out and makes a dot on enemy units in range, dealing damage.

same when an alien dies, could make an interresting tactical feature, so the marines must be aware when killing an alien, so they don't stand too near at it.

At the moment I work on another Alien Hero.
I use this model, but in edited form, so it looks like a Electro Fury.

I have already three abilities for it.

Thunderstorm:
Calls a giant lightning that hurts in AOE region and knockbacks units.

Electric Shield:
Based on the Immolation ability with some nice lightning effects.

Forked Lightning:
Just the standard ability of the Naga Sea Witch.

For the ultimate, I still have to decide.

I just noticed this, looks awesome chilla_killa.

The Electro Fury doesn't seem to have a healing ability, so I suggest giving it the Crypt Lord ultimate as an ultimate but with lightning effects instead of the locusts.

I'll try to help out with more ideas when I get the chance.

I already found another awesome ultimate spell.

But now I need an idea for the third spell of my robot hero.
No ultimate.
For now I have:

1. Construct a Drone
(Constructs a Flying drone that fights for the hero)

2. Flamethrower
(Shoots waves of fire that hurt everything in front of the hero)

3. ???

4. Ultimate: Auto-Reconstruction
(Based on reeincarnation)

Hmm... How's this?

Implant: [Activated Ability]
Inserts a dangerous technological implant into the target, which will slowly convert the target's body into a machine, dealing great damage over time.
The longer Implant is in effect though, the less damage will the target take from other damage sources.
If the target dies while Implant is still in effect a robotic minion will spawn under the Caster's controll, but if the target survives Implant the target will a bonus to armour and strength until death.

Damage Increases with Level.
Strength of Minion Increases with Level.
Damage Reduction Gained by the Target Decreases with Level.
Armour and Strength bonuses Gained by Surviving Targets Decreases with Level.

I have now 8 heroes (4 aliens, 3 humans, 1 robot)
The Hero Selection system for the All VS All Arena mode has been basically finished.

I still have to add abilities to the newly imported heros, improve descriptions and finalize the Hero Selection System.

Then I have to create a Multiboard for kills.

That would be all for a playable first game mode.

A Human VS Alien Arena can be easiliy modified out of the other mode.

Youtube video tomorrow.

Was working on a respawn system with a countdown timer today.
A multiboard showing names, kills, deaths, game mode etc. has been implemented.

I have now 8 heros, 4 aliens, 3 marines, 1 robot.
Still many abilities for them have to be created/downloaded :D

I'm planning to add a Survival game mode.
Only marines are choosable heros.
If you get killed by the creeps you get infested and resurrect as an Alien.
The one who survives the longest wins.

Are you gonna release any of those resorces? Coz if you are, I'm very much interested in your version of this, your models, and the icons. Mostly that skin though ;)

And cool project, I'll be waiting eagerly for its release....

The model looks epic. But before I give any suggestions I would like to know how you want the name...

Like "Name Family-name" or just "Name". Maybe give us examples of other alien names?

And I'm still waiting for that Icon that I'll use in my sig to represent this project.
