Icy Tower

This is a frozen terrain I made recently, I wanted to try making something without any custom models. Anyways, here it is:

Not bad. I would spew for a few lines about tile variation but I can tell it's supposed to be a frozen lake (correct me if I'm wrong) so it's ok.

Kind of boring. Problem is the emptiness doesn't give a barren wasteland feeling, it just looks bad. Not sure how to fix this though, sorry. The tower is nice though!

The terrain is too flat, I say. Give it some hills.

It's mostly flat due to the fact that it's supposed to be an icy lake, though I didn't really convey that too well. Once it reaches the snow it's mostly too foggy to see any hills.

Then I don't know how to help, sorry. I had a solution with a hilly terrain which would go down with a shallow plateau that's supposed to represent the frozen water.

dunno if it helps but you could try to add some outland ligh wind or just some foggy weather
