Ladies and gentlemen,

work on the next two chapters has commenced.

Both will have their moments... and your previous choices will also play a role, though the gravity will differ between B and C due to choosing C by itself already alters certain things.

Today marks the two month anniversary of a certain newspost where I have experimented a bit and shared the results.

The overall reception to this has been very positive which I am grateful for.

Due to the proximity of both Mother's Day and Father's Day, I have decided to share something new in a similar fashion today:
The Heirs of Zyainor!

Just like last time, there has been a great deal of quality control to ensure that the results are satisfying.

I don't want to get lost in details, I have enjoyed working on this and am happy to share it with you today.

Some of you may wonder why the children of the best father of the entire universe himself didn't get this treatment.
Perhaps they will in the future, I would rather complete some more paths first.
Also I wanted Garan to get some spotlight this way.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this and stay tuned for more Arkain news!

I find these songs amusing, my favorites would be Garan and Zurae, and given my lack of interest for Zurae, her theme just puts her into one of the more interesting characters for me.

Amusingly, I recently asked why a lot of songs I know tend to be romance oriented, but these songs are great and gives me more non-romance song collection.

Wonder if I can get some people to be interested with these songs without context

These songs are great! Is this the present you've been referring to, in the Round Table thread?

I wish we could have seen more of Garan, he sounds like a really cool character! Zurae has this really energetic personality, that I think is not really shown in Path of the Bloodclaw. It's a shame, because she sounds fun, but in the story itself, she does little. She is supposed to be a wildcard, but she is just along for the ride. Hotar would be great friends with Richard I think, if they could get past their differences. Parlea is the definition of the "I can fix her, but whatever is wrong with her is way hotter", but she truly needs a psychologist. Velina's armor in the video looks so cool, I wish she and her sister had unique models.

None of Gardon's living children are fit to succeed him, in my opinion. I have no idea what I would do, if I was him, and had to deal with the matter of succession after Garan's death. I would probably throw Primogeniture out the window, in favor of Ultimogeniture, and try to have another child.

Edit: Also, these songs have solidified my opinion, that Path of the Bloodclaw needs a better ending. A 3 minute ending cinematic just doesn't do justice to this story, in my opinion.

Side note: I can't wait to play the new chapters! As others have said, if Arkain had a book, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, because the world of Arkain is amazing, and (especially Gardon's story from the beggining to the end) would make an incredible fantasy novel!

Ironically the Path of the Bloodclaw was arguably not the one best suited to show the character quirks of all
of his children due to the large amount of characters. That and the fact that you chose who to take with you.
Zurae was also acting more mature there as Garan's death had left his marks on the others.
I thought that her acting too chaotic would create a dissonance with the overall feel.

As I have said in the past, I will take another look at it in the future. Not before B and C for the Path of the Nameless are finished.
Not 100% sure if it will be before A either.
For a while I had considered not making an epilogue for it at all and instead take a completely different approach regarding path endings.
It would have felt less finished but it might have been better in retrospect.
Either way, this is something I will take a look at again in the future.

Little fun fact:
Some of the earliest experiments with this included a "Renald VS Gardon" song but that never really satisfied me.

I also made some early drafts for Gardon, Renald, Vail and Larine songs that I dismissed (maybe not forever but still).
Doesn't mean they never happen but I really try to have a quality control with this kinda stuff so I am by no means releasing everything I tinkered with at one point in time.

I would love to hear their songs, but I understand that you don't want to post them here if they don't meet the standards. It would be really cool to hear them someday, if they ever become good enough to share, though.

Edit: I have to admit, I might be asking for selfish reasons... I need Gardon's theme song, I want to put it on an infinite loop, as I conquer the Pyrrean Pass for the 56th time.

Now since we had the two big human families as song, we need the Redfist daughters (and father of course) to complete the circle, perhaps even Zelech since Marin was with the Golden Guard.

Yeah, given his theme song, it would be very interesting to see how the successor of the throne conquers Kerrel. I think it's a mix of spies, political pressure to Kerrel, and political marriage. The idea, I think, is so the people of Kerrel don't see him as conqueror, rather as their savior.

Welp, won't be seeing Garan then. Well, his death is crucial in converting the cold war into an open bloodbath, so it is understandable
