Weapon Models + Items=Changable Equiptment Models?

Hey I have a huge problem: I want to make a game where you start off with NO WEAPON and you can buy a weapon, which puts a weapon etc. in your hands. Also, I saw that cool Soul Caliber Sword, but i just can't make it work...HELP!

Here is a tutorial on how to attach weapons. If you can't get the model to work look for a model importing tutorial.
