The Fate of Valorgous SRPG

This is a single-player SRPG-RLRPG hybrid oriented on contact fight, although magic will be one of the main aspects of the battle sistem. In plan it'll have 3 parts.

History

The First Mages and the legend of God

First Era - Era of the Arrival
The world where we live isn't native to us. It was discovered by the First Mages - living legends, the first men who understood the nature of their elements - Fire, Water, Wind and Ground. Their powers were incomparable with everyone else. At that moment they were the only mages and of course leaders of their people. They had no restrictions and were able to change everything in the new world. That was before the new mage was born. Instead of having simple element like the First, his magic completely differed from them. He had abilities of manipulating the Time, the Matter, the Energy and the Space. He believed he's the only person able to rule the new world. Magic of the First could do nothing against his element, so this Surround mage, as he called himself, defeated them in the great battle. The effect of it was destructable. The World was collapsing. The race of humans was almost extinct. The First were imprisoned in the magic Jewels, which can be found all over the world - Rubies, Diamonds, Sapphires and Emeralds. The First Surround mage, due to his powers, became an immortal god and headed to the World's centre, imprisoning himself forever, as the legend says, keeping our world in balance. No mortal had ever seen him again. The legend was almost forgotten.
Second Era - Era of the Magic
And so on, people lived their little lives, mages were also born among them - and new surround mages, but of course they didn't have such magical powers as the God... One day one Ground mage has discovered strange magical power under ground. It has been flowing like a very fast stream - that's where their name came from. The magic streams, say some of mages, are the World's native magical power. Others say that's the God's magic still preventing the World from great collapse...

The Rise of New Magic Power

Third Era - Era of the Necromancers
The magic streams helped developing magic a lot. The mages of that era had very primitive magic, but with their the support the Magic reached new level. But sometimes mages found streams of new kind, unknown before. They called it "Dark Stream". Mages using them died and then, after some time, revived as new kind of life - almost immortal. Instead of using element magic, they controlled powers of Life and Death. Their followers are known now as Necromancers and the Priests. But at first they wanted friendship with other people. Many of them became the First Priests and were able to heal their friends. Others, the Necromancers, continued studying their Damned Magic.
And they developed it a lot. The Necromancers became powerful allies for the Mages.

Expansion

Fourth Era - Era of the War
Humans' desire for power and fortune is natural. That's why they always kill each other - for a single golden coin or square inch of sand. And that's the reason for them to build powerful fleet whose aim was discovering new, even better land.
Let's get back at the history. When the Great Battle ended, the World was near a collapse. The World was divided into 2 big parts - later they were called Valorgous(northern) and Rhezzatai(southern). That's what also divided the humanity. When the God rebalanced the World, people founded their two kingdoms - Ghottul in the north and Hodeyl in the south.
When their fleets faced each other, the first Rift War has began - that took name from huge thing left from the Great Battle - the World's Rift. The kingdoms' fleets were equal in strength. But Hodeyl was the first kingdom where the Necromancers appeared. With their help the Southern kingdom won the war. And in that very day of the defeat hatred to the Necromancers was born in the hearts of Valorgous people.

Rebellion

After being enslaved by the southern people children of the North had no life. They were working for 24 hours of a day on their masters. Of course they wanted to break these chains, but they were unable to do it.
That was time for a real hero. And he came. His name was Selrin. He was not even a mage. But he was the first who rebelled against Rhezzatai. Selrin found strong people to fight their enemies. The Great Rebellion of Valorgous has started. Selrin's people were rapidly reconquering the northern kingdom. It was easy for them because their overseers became lazy fat pigs without any work. More and more joined his army. When Rhezzatai's forses were completely banished from Valorgous, Selrin ended the war. His aim was to return the glory of the past back to Ghottul. After he was enthroned the New Ghottul became even more powerful than before.

New God?

History already knows that power and money can corrupt everybody. Selrin wasn't an exception. He wanted to rule his kingdom forever. At first he tried to use magic. As i said before, Selrin's magical abilities were very weak. He couldn't find the way to immortality. But he believed the God was the first immortal person. What did he decided? To find the God! His men were trying to find some ancient tunnels or caves - the searches gave them nothing.
And then one day Selrin heard a report. Some traider was passing through the forest, transporting jewellery. The bandits attacked him and he tried to hide in the bags with the goods. When bandits found him, he suddenly burned them all. And he wasn't even a mage! At first noone understood it. But then Selrin recalled the Legend in his memory - the First Mages' Imprisonment. The trader took some power from his rubies. That was one of the greatest discoveries of the Fourth Era. Selrin, with help of the jewellery became a mage, but his element wasn't the Surround like the God's.
He tried to become immortal once again. Selrin remembered the abilities of the Necromancers. He was planning how will he use the necromancer and found out that he must unite their bodies. To not allow the necromancer to take control on him, Selrin must kill him first. And as the King of Ghottul was ambitious, he decided to make the most powerful necromancer of that time, Torranos, his victim.

Invasion

Fifth Era - Era of Zantuns
Noone could expect that the World can be discovered by anyone else. But the First weren't the only to have abilities to travel from one world to another. New people were taller, stronger and also had magic. But their magic didn't kill enemies from distance. It enchanted their weapons and bodies. These warriors called themselves zantuns. In contact fight they had no rivals. But magic of humans could beat them. But there was a problem. Every zantun had magical power, but not every human.
Zantuns began to conquer the World. At first Hodeyl wanted to unite with Ghottul to stop the invaders. But after killing Torranos Hodeyl declared war. It was easy for zantuns to conquer two kingdoms fighting with each other.
Humans had to hide. Where? Underground! They tried to stay unnoticed. Humans created a new kingdom - Enod for the name of their king (former king of Hodeyl), zantuns - Oszer Empire, for their emperor.
Humans began to create new army and were preparing for epic battles. Zantuns didn't know anything about underground kingdoms. And they didn't know anything about the God.

Crusade

When people have hidden underground, most of them united and founded Enod, but immortal king Selrin rebelled against them and created his own organisation Garrzlat. He decided to wait for a chance to get his power back and become king again because he hadn't enough followers to fight with Enod. Noone has ever heard of it because of their conspiracy skills.
But Enodis, the new king of all humans, couldn't wait anymore. His armies were ready to crush the zantuns as fast as it's possible - noone enjoys living underground. Humans started the war. That was a real surprise for zantuns that so much humans could survive. The enodians were rapidly re-conquering their homeland. But that war have brought a new great discovery - the God's Scepter.
Humans have already found the most important part of The Firsts' Legacy - magic gems. And soon some new artifacts were discovered - the Magic Weapons. That were elemental swords of incomparable power. Each First Mage had had his own one. But this Scepter wasn't just a weapon. That surround mage who found it decided that it could transport some strong enough surround mage to the God himself. Why did God leave this Scepter? Maybe to give himself a chance to retire after thousands of years that he spent protecting his world?
But this discovery made great influence on humans. They believed that their God sends them his blessing!..

Nobody knows what was happening for three hundred years after the crusade, but historical documents tell us about reborn New Ghottul in Valorgous and Ayno in Rhezzatai.

The New World

Sixth Era - Era of Discoveries
Now, when humans' life got calm, they began to build great magic airships, capable of transporting even a little town. Nowadays this technology is lost for us. With these ships humans explored many seas and discovered many islands. But they couldn't stop at it. Of course, Selrin and his Garrzlat made their own airships and concured the newfound islands. At that rate they finally got to a very big island that was never seen before. Certainly, it was declared King Selrin's belonging and was called Nepoyl Kingdom. Some of the garrzlats were exploring their new homeland. Others became air pirates and began to rob aynonians and ghottulans. These small conflicts grew into a big war between the New World and the Old World - Eternal War that lasted fifty years. At last someone of garrzlat officers betrayed his king. With his help the Old World won the war and conquered the New World. Selrin and small amount of his army sirvived and escaped the Nepoyl Kingdom. Noone ever heard of them anymore.

The Adventurers

Seventh Era - Era of Rot
Many years passed. Humans moved to the New World, to the new Laret Kingdom. The reason for their leaving was strange taint spreading in the Ayno. The land was corrupting and everything on it was dying or mutating. Even mages couldn't heal this curse. Noone knew where it came from. Nowadays the whole Ayno and a big part of New Ghottul are rotting. This taint has unbelievably changed the land, the trees, the animals, even humans and turned them into monsters.
But now people calling themselves Adventurers are exploring the New Ghottul, some of them are trying to survive in Ayno. These fearless people want to achieve fame and fortune. Some of them bring back to home corrupted artifacts of great and evil power, but many of them never return from rotting land of the New Ghottul...

The First part of the whole campaign is
Through Rotting Land
This map tells you about the adventurer Lerrst Haring, who, in search of some fortune, comes to the lands of Old Ghottul - eastern part of The Valorgous Empire(or just Empire)
You won't fight alone, you'll have a companion - your dog which can also use magic of the same element as yours, but weaker.
The main feature of the map will be possibility to play it many times - storyline can change depending on your deeds - dark or heroic...

Quests [MAIN]

There won't be many quests in the map, but i think it's better to have few interesting completely different quests than tons of usual "kill 'em all" quests
and reward for such quest won't include only gold and exp

I'll post example of the quest later. 2 first optional quests are already created.

Magic [MAIN]

In this map you'll be able to become a mage(that's strongly recommended). But you won't be able to choose your element. Maybe you'll be lucky to get your favourite element?
the magic elements are:
- Water(Also Ice) (practikally half of all the mages use this element)
- Ground (Earth, Stone, Trees) (common element too)
- Fire (Magma, Ignition, Explosions), Wind(Wind itself and Lightning) (rare)
- Surround (that's legendary element, the most powerful of all. The magic element of the God of the World. The last surround element mage died about 300 years ago, so you can only dream to become such mage... but...)

Classes [Currently not working on it]

You may choose between some character classes, that depends on your desire and(for example magic elements) your luck.
As i said, you'll have a dog. You can support your companion or aid it in battle(of course you can choose both the roles)
Warriors differ too. But you can still be a knight and, for example, a druid. Exact classes won't exist, you can only specialise on something.

Battles [MAIN]

Battles will differ as much as it's possible. Different enemies, different battlefields...
Every enemy will be like a mini-boss, but you will always have only one enemy at a moment
You can use and change your surrounding to help you in battle, for example,
stones, that you will drop on your enemy's head from the sky will stay on the ground for some time. There always will be a little 'quest' completeing which you'll find winning much more easy.
In the beginning of the game the battles won't be hard, but they will only grow in difficultcy.

Controls [System is Created]

You'll control directly only your own hero.
Dog will be controlled by a wisp flying near you
you can select the wisp by pressing Escape button(if your hero is selected right now). to re-select your hero press escape again. And don't forget that you won't share your dog's vision.
You will be able to use map's database

Items [System is Created]

The system will be very simple, but i'm afraid noone will like it.
You can wield one armor, one sword and one shield at a time(later there will be two-handed weapons). When you pick up a weapon, it automatically replaces item of such kind in your inventory => you won't be able to trade "loot". And you can't even drop your weapon or armor, so you will need to find another way to get money.

For now you'll see few items but this number will be increased later

Database [Work in Progress]

There will be some kind of database, where you can get information about everything in the game.

Music [Currently not working on it]

Yes, i want to use some music for battles and as main theme.
Don't expect to hear custom music in the demo
And i wanna know your suggestions at this point
There should be song like this at one of the battles, if it do not seem to be illegal

I want to find some JASS and GUI coders for spell-making. You may leave storyline on me
And i want modellers too, but for only few models

This is an SRPG oriented on 1vs1 contact fight, although magic will be one of the main aspects of the battle system.
You start as a simple adventurer who wants only to earn some money and achieve fame. No heroism) But you are able to choose your own way...

Main features:
-player is choosing hero-class during the game(warrior and mage with sub-classes)
-a lot of unique spells for contact and middle-ranged fight
-each enemy has different ways to be vanquished
-special item system

I want to find some JASS and GUI coders for spell-making. You may leave storyline on me)

Can you post more information; From what I can read now it looks like another generic SRPG. Explain how its different from other SRPGS, show some storyline, etc... People want to know more than just 5 features. (The 5 features include the battle system.)

Not only is that song illegal to use in your map, its gonna take up half the file size if u do

hohoho, i'll reduce the size and will modify it. And the map will be protected, so noone can copy it to his computer => so this isn't illegal use of the song at all. don't forget that my map isn't commercial project)

But i will also listen to others' opinion. if too many will decide it is illegal, i of course won't use it

In that case, you may suggest legal music

Its copyrighted by whoever signed that JP album... and you cant use copyrighted material in your own map. (im not sure as far as non-profit and authorization goes, but im pretty sure hive doesn't accept it)

and reducing the filesize even below 1mb will cost a heavy sound quality cut and probably half the song

I'm very sorry, but progress is slowed down for a while, but when i'll have my time again, of course i'll continue my work! and this is information only for fans!
the demo will be released a little bit later. if you are interested in the project, wait some more time and you'll get something greater than simple demo

I'm working too slow i think. Maybe that's because i don't have anyone's support and that's why i have to try making spells myself(and that's my weak point, i should mention)
