whats a good 2d animation program.

I'm, a cartoon artist but I've been having problems finding a fast and smooth program to put all my images together.

Well Gimp 2.0 has an animation program in it, but you have to add layer to layer.

Yeah, I have Gimp, But it doesn't do it very well I mean it gets the job done but its not as nice as it could be.

depends what you mean by animation, if you just want to add a load of jpegs to make a .gif you can use jasc animation suite. if you actually want to make animations like drawing, i think you can use macromedia flash to make animations and then compile them into multiple formats including .avi.

Flash tends to have a monopoly on this field, and for a good reason. Adobe Flash CS3 is the way to go.
