This is pretty simple to do if you really look at it (maybe lightning takes time)

It's good, like most of your terraining. But most of them are also very alike. Try to shoot it from a different angle sometime.

Only by tinting his doodas is a start (not on the "Burning Steppes" case, I mean in other situations).

I often miss important details like the tint of doodads, but usually other people point them out and I can fix them (or not xP).

This is sincerely very good. BUT-- you have definitely done better. I like your more moutain/forest terrains. Still, +rep =D
