Its from the RoC intro movie, where the infernal lands among the footman and grunt.
my first go at terraining, plz post feedback etc
(i think it kinda sucks, but w/e)

The only reason that is there is because you probably took a screenshot right before you took this one, usually that doesnt show up.

0.o more smooth? i saw a similar post of this on wc3 campaigns and some1 told him that it looked like a homosexual love scene and a metoer, and told him to add mroe hills 0.o

if you look at the movie, its a bit hilly

EDIT: Well there are hills if you look through the entire movie, and i bet if you raised the camera abit more on that pic, you would see a few hills

Smooth down stuff... give it a better fog and give it a background. Also, you might want to add some rocks around the crater, lowered into the ground, to make it look like smashed debris.

trouble is, there is no green flame model, and if you try to tint the red/blue flame, it doesnt work (for me anyways)

errr well, the first ones outdated -.-
it was outdated for like 3 minutes, but if you check the movie, there isnt that much grass left near the crater after it landed

I don't base my judgment off the movie, simply terrain experience.

Overall it's a pretty poor terrain. It does resemble the movie pretty well though.

Everyone does have to start somewhere, but you aren't going to get any less of a review than our veteran members, ie I won't hold anything back, I'll be entirely honest.

Search here in the terrain forum. There was someone who was working on an impressive one. You can get some ideas from that.

Though the actual terrain is plain and - to be honest - boring, but the part which makes it a success is that it looks a lot like how it was in the cinematic. Only additions needed is a black fog and grass doodads and you should be well on your way.

Very cool, only a few flaws. Remove the screenshot taken text offcourse. Just retake the screenie and improve the crater. For the rest i think its perfect. Totally reminded me of that cinematic.

Actually, I think that the movie itself has a poor terrain, then it isn't his fault.

Maybe with some more experience he will make a better terrain, but it will still boring and etc.

the movie itself is bare except for grass, i thought it would be a pretty easy terrain to do
