The reason it's so bright is because it's supposed to be as if you were looking straight at the sun.

A nice terrain, however, I noticed a couple flaws nearly instantly when I first glanced at the terrain image. Here's a list of flaws:
  • The 'River Rushes' are way too bright and do not blend with the tiles. I recommend you tint the color darker. (A darker green would do fine)
  • Grass tiles are placed improperly. (Place grass like this: Heavy dark grass with semi-grass/dirt and then surround that with light dirt)
  • Needs to be more rocks, trees, and grassy doodads in the foresty hills of the terrain shot.

The sunlight is good though. It's capable of giving that blinding feel since it is positioned where the sun is, good job on that. Keep working on this and it could definitely be a whole lot better if you fix the flaws I've listed.
