Points, unit and player group leak like shit. There are others but these are the most common ones.

Real, integers and something more, doesn't leak. Units leak.

Units don't leak.
When you create them at a location they leak. Other stuff like Doodads do also leak because you place them at locations. It's the location's fault!

Variables are nice because they take against all the leak and make them removable. You put the location you want into the variable and then when you're done with it you remove its value.

Yes they do... try having 1000 units on a map and don't remove any. Lagging right?
Try having 1000 locations without removing any. Lagging right?

Basically, every type of variable that can be removed with a native leaks.
