Where can I find a condition that checks which unit is selected.

Unit Condition Or Unit-Type condition.
When you enter Condition window, select the filter and scroll a bit down. Look for 'Unit' keyword at the begining

I've been looking through them, but nothing says "Event Response - Selected Unit"
Do i use triggering unit? or is that event triggered by player and not unit?

For the condition: "A player selects a unit", use the following response: Triggering unit. Since it's the selected unit which triggers the trigger, it will acquire status of triggering unit. Not sure about this 100 percent, thought. Try it out and tell the results.
