Is there an importing tutorial?

Hey, sorry to be a bother but I just need a tutorial on how to import skins. If someone could give me a link or something, that would be cool. I don't need to make my own skins. I already have someone to do that for me. I just need to know how to import skins. The skinner I know is away for the next three months. Anyone help me out?
