I need help about my Fantasy spell icon.

Hi everyone,
In this icon i want to present a special-looking ball or globe magical green lines around it. would you tell me how to make it correctly?
I am using GIMP 2 for that drawing. In freehand i am an excellent drawer but i afraid that in computer i am a lacking, new, beginner drawer. So please help me.

ok seriously. try waiting. Patience is its own reward. Now what you need to do is look in to reading some tutorials on icon design. What you have here... its just not that good. Theres too many points i can bring up up about how this needs to improve but I can simply say, learn hoe to use the programs first. find out how you can be etter with the program and practice with it.
heres a list of some good icon tutorials you can work off of, and they can give you a whole lot of info based on icon art. Good luck
