I just got back into skinning, especially after alot of practise with things such as GIMP. (Using brushes and such)

This is the first WIP of a new skin I am working on, Golden Guardian.
Is there anything I should improve on?

Your wrap is pretty bad. Remember to go back and forth between the texture and model while you work, investigate how every detail looks on the model. His eyes, for instance, are not round on the model. Additionally, I suggest you use higher contrast to make features stand out more - especially in-game. Use harsh shadows and shiny highlights. I guess the black parts are just not done, and you intend to change everything else as well. Good luck!
