uhm, fastes way is open your map with the units, then click on data and open your other map (dont close the editor) and then u can switch between the maps without big loading, just click on top on "Window"

good luck with your map! =)

If you only have custom unit settings at one map, you can go to your Object Edior > File > Export unit settings

Now you go to the other map - Object Editor > File > Import Unit Settings.

[But this will overwirte existing unit datas]


Tip: I don't know if you done this allready but turning off the "Brushlist" [ Maineditor > Window > Brushlist ] can increase the speed too. If you use german editor [like the screen of the mate above] it's "Pinsel-Liste".
