Spell weakness/Susceptibility

I'm wanting to make a certain type of unit weak to spells, i.e. they take extra damage from offensive spells cast against them.

Does anyone have any ideas i could use to make a trigger for this, or any base abilities I could modify and work off of?

(I've already tried the runed bracers spell reduction, but a negative value can't be put into the fields, as it automatically defaults to a 0)

Well obviously you have not, as by opening the field with shift, you disable it from any default range allowing you to enter both positive and negative numbers of insane range.

You can also modify unit armor types in the game play constants so spells deal more or less damage to them.
