Okay, first of all, Pandarens DO exist in WoW. Facts:
1) Have you ever played Rexxar's campaign in Warcraft 3? Well...? There's Chen Stormstout, the Pandaren brewmaster.
2) Quest Chen's empty keg in WoW. Speaks for itself...
3) Bamboo plants in Zul'Gurub... hmm, I wonder where did that come from...hmm, how about, Pandaria!?

I'm not sure... there's something fishy going around here... Blizzard, what more secrets do you keep from us? So what do You think, will Pandarens ever show up in WoW? (btw, I'm not playing WoW, but if Pandarens ever show up as playable race, I'm there! ^^)

Pandaren will become a playeable race in the expansion Beyond the Forbidding Sea Pandaren will not join the alliance or horde specifically. you choose a pandaren and then you choose alliance or horde. depending on your faction, your pandaren will look slightly different with different classes as well.

Actually, this was said a few years ago, blizz would Release Pandaerens but they'd get sued by China, so they can cut china off from WoW or pandaerans ain't coming :( (CUT OFF CHINA >:O) and CHina would sue them due to some laws or something because of them being endagered and pandaerens getting killed or something o.O

Pandarens, the only problem is, they're faction. They are mainly neutral friendly.

arthas_king, I think you're wrong... the first one is a Chinese Pandaren brewmaster, second one is Japanese. Blizzard was using the Japanese version in the beggining, but since pandas live only in China, they told Blizzard to change the model to look more Chinese-like. That's why the second one, japanese version, is Wc3 TFT Beta model.

Pandas are associated with China since they originate from the Chinese region and the Chinese government has laid claims to them. However, Blizzard equipped the Pandaren with Japanese armor. However, China felt that this was a violation and forced Blizzard to change the armor on the Pandas. I think it is stupid though...Pandaren are panda men, not Pandas :thumbs_down:

Its simple... because its an american company and china has a say over a choice regarding the company... Therefore they will take advantage of that say at all costs in order to try and assert themselves of something of importance, even something as irrelevant as a video game. China doesn't have much going for them, so they look for anything and everything to exploit to further their own demeanor.

it isnt that they dont want the pandarens in the game to be jerks, it is because that way they somewhat control blizzard. blizzard will eventually want to get pandaren and they will have to make an agreement in order to get pandaren:

Blizzard: We wanna use pandarens for the 100th expansion, can we use them?
Chinese govt: ya, as long as my chinese people are the developers for the game...

This is stupid.. the pandaren concept is far from being chiness at the first place.. Samwise the Lead Artist at blizzard created the pandaren and it wasn't even for Blizzard at the first place...

He simply made a drawing of his famely representing them as animals they made him think about. And he was a panda. Blizzard saw that concept, brought it from Samwise and the pandarens were born....

It is just stupid, since we are killing dragons all the time in WoW and monkeys and pig .. and crocodile.. and snakes.. and..and.. etc..etc.etc.

Well, what really bothers me is that China has no problem with the fact that in-game characters who are described as brave humans die and are being corrupted and resurrected as undead. Instead they go complain about a fictional race of humanoids loosely based upon the look of an animal(a 'sacred' animal, but still an animal). :/

Except that in real life, it grows pretty much everywhere. Europe and Antarctica are the only continents that don't have native species of it. So in WoW, it's not much of a stretch for it to have spread from Sholozar to the other side of the world.
