Add special effect to the left hand to unit that is a doodad?

I made a pathing blocker that has the model file of a unit and i want to do a trigger special effect create a special effect attached to the left hand of bla bla bla but how do i do this to a doodad? Im using a weapon attachment...

Eh...A unit that is a doodad? Don't think it's possible to attach effects to doodads. Unless...

Make a unit version of the doodad with Locust ability ('Aloc').

Make it transparent.

Place the unit in the position of the doodad and add the effect to the unit instead.

Might work?

That would look bad, since the animations are played randomly, and the attachment wouldn't go where you wanted it to :S
I don't really think there's any way to do this, except to edit the model. I could do that foor ya, I think =) Just tell me which model and which attachment you want

Yeah, it would look terrible. It's the only way I could think of. Apart from editing the model that is.

You can pause that unit and don't use doodads at all.

If that's what he wants, true. But I think he wants the doodad to move, or am I wrong..?
