Unit to Hero

Hi,its the troublemaker again xD i created an unit but it isnt hero. how to make him hero?reply fast. ty :grin:

As far as i can remember it's impossible, you have to creat a hero in order to be a hero.

Copy a hero, paste a hero.
Copy a unit, paste a unit.

There's no way of turning a unit into a hero or the other way around.

make a hero and go to object editor the you will see the ''Modle fire=Paladin''chane the unit file with the unit u want to be the hero and then simply change his voice.

thats all ^^ simply work

No. That'll make him look like a Hero, he still won't be able to have Hero-abilities.

I just want to make my unit lvl up,not because of the hero abilities coz i know how to make hero ability to unit ability =/

To have level (Hero-level) you need to have a Hero-unit, not a normal-unit. You have to copy a Hero, not a unit.

i know that...omg..nvm about this thread...better tell me why 70% of models that i download dont work?it shows a black and green squared box =/ i tryed to delete the "warcraft3importedfiles/" line but it doesnt work even if i save the map and then turn it on for about 5 times...

You've most likely got a bugged texture-path. You have to set it correct, in most cases, it states it on the download page. Also, you must save and restart your editor.

You can also go in to the Unit Menu and press your unit and look for: Is Hero [x]

There is no "Is Hero = [X]". To make a Hero, you have to copy a Hero to begin with.

Can't you just remove hero abilities and change the model of hero?

And did you check "Not sure how to import this model? Click here" when you downloaded model?

Hero and unit is different thing. Hero is Hero, and Unit is Unit, they are NOT related. If you want to make new hero, copy ANY hero and then CHANGE WHAT YOU WANT.

Look at tutorials how to import models/skins/textures.

Copy any hero and then change his model his voice his spells and all that you want.So u got a hero with a look of a unit
