Widening Bridges

So I have this wide chasm, and I wanted to make one bridge to go over it. I make a custom destructible from the bridge, set the scaling up, but I can only modify the X scaling. Any way I can do the Y, to make it wider but not longer?

Or alternatively, make it so I can butt bridges up right against each other, so I can make one long bridge with overlapping?
