Background Story



Since aeons the empires of humans and demons are kept in eternal balance by the holy V-Energy - an essence of purity and wisdom as well as fierce strength and total might. The half god Fahras, keeper of balance, protects this mystical energy by force from anyone or anything that lusts for the overwhelming might that the V-Energy provides to its bearers. Askalor, another half god and the lord of the demon empire is Fahras' antagonist in trying to move the world out of its eternal balance by taking over the control of the holy V-Energy. As stories are told since the beginning of the times both forces, light and the darkness, may not be able to annihilate each other. However, from ambush Askalor was able to dissolve Fahras' physical embodiment leaving only his ghost behind with which he is no longer able to protect the physical world of light. Fahras energy that was bound to his body was spread over the entire world of Hyppos immerging in nature and new life providing the entities with unforseen power. The keeper of balance may never return, or will he?

This is a role-playing game (RPG) for single-player and multi-player mode.

There are eight (8) different classes to choose from:
  • Assassin: Master of the shadows and blades.
  • Ranger: Strikes with bow and nature magic.
  • Warrior: Smites his opponents with fierce strength and willpower.
  • Seraph: Protects by angelic force and the holy spirits.
  • Elemental Mage: Embraces the elements.
  • Mentalist: Strikes through illusions and arcane energy.
  • Priest: Empowered by the holy V-Energy.
  • Necromancer: Raises the dead and channels death magic.
All classes can be play in several different modes and tactics.
The customization of your own hero is far beyond equipment, spells, abilities and even a pet.

It is possible to just play around with friends, doing side quests or following the main quest.
The player's progress can be saved in one game session and restored in another.

A Player-versus-Player (PvP) arena allows to fight with and against friends for a variety of different matches.
Minipets may not only carry your items but also may take part in battles to a certain extend.

Very nice rpg you have made here.
I would recommend some more classes or something you can evovle into. This would help the gameplay being fun after a while.
I also think it's really hard getting level after level 20.
Anyways I like this map.
I give it 8/10.

Robbepop, you shouldn't quit a project because of hackers and cheaters, because there wouldn't exist any maps if every creator would think like that.
Just ignore those hackers and cheaters, they will always be there at some point, can't avoid them.
I always play the legit version of every map, i prefer having fun and actually playing the map then using cheats to max lvl and all gear and having basically finished the map, so I would kill a few bosses and be bored of it, because I would have all progress of the map.

So please don't quit a project because of hackers and cheaters, they'll always be around in any online community, can't avoid it at any way.
Just aim for those who actually play your map and like it.

So I really like this map and I would love to see appear some more balancing, changes, new spells and new classes in future.

i already said that i finished this project with v1.07c.
but now i ve to make a new version v1.07d because of a huge bug. xD
i always liked to work on goh orpg but now it isnt a real fun, because when i see a very good hero in a game i always first have to think about if it is just cheated, or if the guys really leveled him up without cheats. that not really funny. -.-

i did never planned jobs.
are they soo important? 0.o

yes, after a certain lvl your ablitys become suck unless they either: stun, multiply your attack, are directly affected by your str or agi or int, or give you the ablity to target multiple creeps

Assassin doesnt really need a second job because most of its skills rely on its agi

he isnt complaining about "normal" maphackers. some people hack this map and create save codes and/or add cheattriggers :/

im not a RPG player but i wuold rate this map 5/5 anytime. I love the necromancer ;)

This map is really fun to play and I enjoyed playing with it, thats why I shall give some review/critiscism:

Cons :
-HUGE filesize, its quite hard to create a group of people to play, since its almost 4mb, and most players quit or don't download as you create.
-EXP gain was REALLY small on lvl 50+, it took me days and days to reach lvl 68...
-Creeps drop way too many common itens
-It REALLY sucks when I died and lost 4,000 gold.Thats quite a lot, you should reduce it
-Some spells become really useless or with overpowering manacost on level 10
-Most of the quests that I've done gave always exp/gold reward, you should do a different reward, like giving the players a shared control unit to help in quests, or to liberate acess to a area, or to create a new npc after you save him etc
-There is a bug on the 'Melargaba'(or something like that) respawn of that sea creatures (Merman, Komodowaran), sometimes they just desappear when you leave the region, that really sucked because I was killing them and somewhat a friend of mine needed to heal in the fountain, vanishing all the creeps
-Sometimes when you kill a creep, a weird thing happens, respawns another one out of nowhere nearby...I guess there could be a 'wait' between respawns
-A bad thing, but I know it would take ALOT of work to change is, you cant even pick up itens of higher level, it would be nice if you couldn't have their bonuses but at least have it on inventory for later use.
-I found the ranger's spider arrow ability quite useless, even on level 10

Pros
-Great history
-A lot of itens, including itens from sets and magic, thats quite interesting
-A good quantity of spells that you can actually choose and level!Very good!
-Pets are really useful
-Heros have nice models
-Bosses have unique drops that make the game very interesting
-Good SAVE/LOAD wooot, a rpg without is NOTHING!
-I got a lv 68 ranger with Medite's bow and some of the 'DeathKnight'-dragon-thingy itens!
-Some typos, but other than that, everything is well done
-Quest where quite interesting and with nice ends(ex:that acolyte attacks you after you finish his quest)

nice ideas, and some of them did i already made for v1.08.
but i dont think that i ve to lower the gold reduce when you get killed.
some of the player would use this then to teleport faster. XD

perhaps i will remake the spawn system again, but i wont think that it would be better then. currently its without bugs, and thats good. =)

Can you say me pls some spells with overpowered mana costs or unuseful effects?

I already solve the Problem with the Spiderarrow.
It now costs much less mana on higher levels, but also much more mana on lower levels.^^

As you know i have some other maps and even rl.^^
So i can only say,... "it's done when it's done!"

I already made about 70 changes!

But i ve also a good message for you!
You can play GoH v1.08 alone in B.Net and Local Netword with Save/Load command! The code is the same as in Multiplayer. The new System detects only the real Singleplayer. So just play alone on BNet or Local Network and you can play with save! ;-)

i already finished 85% of them.^^

im currently making all hero spells to Jass spells.
why?

-For a better performance
and
-For the new SpellBonusSystem. :p

The old one is a crappy s***t. xD
Buggy, slow, not variable!

Thats the hugest work i ve to do at the moment. =)

you should know that i work on the map since one and a half year.
would be very shit, if cheater destroy this work - i thought.
so i said, that i just will work on this map, when i really have fun to do it.
i wont anymore do it for the community.
sometimes in the past i mapped and improved this map that the community have fun and something to play. xD
but as i see, only a few minorit cares about how much work such a map is.
-they cheat.... and destroy every balance, every fun of other players and even my fun to work on the map.
now i sometimes work on the map.
not as often as in the past, but i work...

Let's see, when the version is finished. :p

This is good map, my friend, i am a fan of RPG genre and i must say you have done it well. Creating RPGs is to show your imagination, your talent and sense, so dont be discouraged as people try to hack your map,..as they always do it that way.

-MONK TO IMBA! :p my bro played him and could tank dmg deal and heal he was in the orc base and dident die and hardly had to heal and was killing them like heck and he only had 500 hp...

i will release the map in the next days!
today i coded the whole day the new loading system for the hero.
yesterday i coded the saving system for hero and minipet.
and tommorrow i ll code the loadingsystem for the minipet.
everything in jass.
and already 900 lines of code. :p

but there's a strange bug with the "-new" cmd and some new systems i made for v1.08.

hiho,

no my save load system isnt based on Gamecache. :p
it's just based on a loooong code. xD
the code is even 2 letters longer than in v1.07 for a better protection.
there were some intelligent player who understand the protection and cloned items this way. hf if you try it again in v1.08.^^

I know one simple clone method: save minipet and give item to another player ))
Then restart map and load your things...

i made new save load systems with better cheat protections.
this bug wont work in v1.08 because if you save your hero the last time in a game, you should also save your minipet or it wont belong to your hero, if you want to load both next game! :p
And you can't give the minipet to other players.

After i finished the new save/load system in pure jass with 1478 lines,
i will release goh v1.08 today. :D

This will be the last version of this projekt.
i stopped developing it because of too many cheaters and hackers.

That's a stupid reason to stop working on such a great map.
Cheaters and hackers? Come on, you can pwn them, with some anti-hack,cheat systems.
Ask around here for help :)
