My first maps were utter crap, and I don't think I even finished any of them. Basically, it was all short RPGs that I ran out of ideas for half-way through. The real meat began surface when the Frozen Throne came out - I managed a competent RPG with three sections on one small map, but after troubles with the end-scene cinematic I dumped that too :(

My First map was Hell. It was 64x64 in size, and had that dumbass "Melee initialization" trigger, when I didnt want it to be a melee map,I wouldve changed it,but back then I knew absolutley NOTHING about triggers, not even the easy stuff like adding gold to a player,or moving a unit. You had a Blood mage as a hero, and 5 peasents and a castle(Duh.) So when I tested it,It ended automatically, but I continued.I thought it was a masterpiece! and another funny thing,Peons and grunts were your enemies.and a pit lord was what you can say "the boss of the map".I`ll submit it if you want, just so everyone can make fun of me and taunt me all day.what fun?=)

D'oh!

My first map was when TFT was released. I kid you not: I never touched World Edit before then! In it, I made a custom hero and changed its model to a Necromancer and made a spell that did 20000 damage.

I started mapping with Age of Empires and used that editor (a very simple one) till Starcraft was released. Then I made maps for Starcraft and Freespace 2 (always Singleplayer, had no internet connection at that time), so I got much experience with those editors. When Warcraft3 was released I didn't have to much problems with the editor, I learned the more difficult things from "The Spider Queen" and Blizzards maps. My first real "map" was a campaign, 8 maps long, but it never got finished because in my opinion the story sucked. Actually, till now I never uploaded a map here, only tutorial maps for triggering.

My first map was something you could call RPG. You got a nightelv hero (at that time I was fazinied of nightelves). This hero had the abilities arrow, avoid, poisened weapons, windrun and warstomp as the ultimate. It was concepted for 3 players, but I added some later. You targed was to kill paladins. (Because i didn't know anything about variables, each kill gives you one gold. You win the game after having 8 gold). If you want to see it, I can upload it, but i don't thing that it's worth.
I started plaing with Editors with Age of Empires 1 (A very good game in my point of view).
