at the top of your internet browser go to View, text size, then set it to medium. if you hold down alt and then scroll with the mouse wheel it will also increase or decrease the text size which is why that can happen without ur realizing it.

As an aside, you should update to Internet Explorer 7, if you get the chance. Or use Opera/Firefox.
