Anybody been following the new Smash Bros game for the Wii?

Well I'll update this thread with the news that's released every now and then for those who are curious.

stage01_070522a-l.jpg

The basic style
"Battlefield" is the type of stage where you can enjoy the most basic of matches.

There is one large platform with three pass-through platforms.
Despite its simplistic design, it gives birth to a wide array of strategies during battle.

This time, in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, many stages will undergo elaborate changes during battle.

On Battlefield, the main platform will not change...

stage01_070522b-l.jpg

But then evening comes...

stage01_070522c-l.jpg

And then comes night.

stage01_070522d-l.jpg

You can brawl til dawn!

You'll play this level many times, so it's nice to see it change a little.

item01_070524a.jpg

Gooey Bomb

The Gooey Bomb is a bomb that adheres to most things. It's an explosive encased in a gummy goo.
It's a little different from a Motion Sensing Bomb in the sense that it can attach itself not only to the terrain, but also to opponents.

item01_070524b-l.jpg

When you hit someone with it...

item01_070524c-l.jpg

It sticks to them! Get... GET IT OFF!

item01_070524d-l.jpg

Then it explodes! Oh, the horror!

However, it's possible to get a Gooey Bomb that's stuck to you to stick to someone else.
Touching someone as you pass by may very well cause it to migrate when you least expect it!

item01_070524e-l.jpg

Pass it on! It may even get returned to sender...

pit.jpg

Pit

The protagonist in Kid Icarus. Pit's Sacred Bow of Palutena is actually two blades combined. He can separate them or unite them at will for use in battle.

The arrows Pit's bow unleashes shoot out like beams of light. Players can control the curves of their trajectories.

<Normal Special Move: Palutena Arrow>

pit_070528a-l.jpg

Pit draws his bowstring taut...

pit_070528b-l.jpg

And fires! The trajectory of the arrow can curve.
Steering up and down will bend the trajectory.
His arrows travel as fast as light, though, so be quick. Very quick!

<Up Special Move: Wings of Icarus>

pit_070528c-l.jpg

He's falling! Danger! ...But don't worry.

pit_070528d-l.jpg

The "Wings of Icarus" allow Pit to fly freely through the sky!
In actuality, though, Pit is an angel who cannot ordinarily fly.
After a while, he will fall, so be careful.

basic02_070529a.jpg

The Final Smash is a secret skill that can be performed but once…and only after obtaining an item called the Smash Ball, which is a precious item, indeed.

The basic gist of it? I suppose you could say it’s kind of like a powerful and personalized hammer. (Or maybe not…)

You can look forward to experiencing the glowing personality behind each of the many Final Smashes!

basic02_070529b-l.jpg

I-I… I want it!

<Mario Finale>

So just what was that massive storm of flame Mario unleashed in the movie?

That was Mario's Final Smash, the Mario Finale!

mario_070529a-l.jpg

He got a Smash Ball! Mario is standing by!

mario_070529b-l.jpg

Ready?

mario_070529c-l.jpg

Bam! Bam! BambambambamBAM!

The explosion launches out and expands vertically as it travels, so in order to inflict the most damage possible on enemies, it's best to release this from a slight floating or midair position on either the left or right side of the screen.

If Mario launches this at you, you'd better flee!

We’ve included rapid-fire items like the Super Scope once again.

technique01_070530a-l.jpg

One of the so-called shooting items.

This time, though, you can walk and even jump while shooting these weapons!

technique01_070530b-l.jpg

Whoa! You can move forward and backward!

technique01_070530c-l.jpg

You can even shoot while jumping!

Freedom and ease of use have gotten a real upgrade.

This expansion also increases your possible strategies, so fire away!

item02_070531a.jpg

Cracker Launcher

This is a shooting item. Basically, you hold it in your arms.

item02_070531b-l.jpg

Gotta heft this thing! Hurrrgh!

After you grab this item, it’ll rapidly release blast after blast of firecrackers that explode gaudily.

item02_070531c-l.jpg

Whoooooooaaa!

You can walk around and jump while holding the launcher.

You can also aim the launcher at different angles by tilting the Control Stick up or down.

item02_070531d-l.jpg

Fire up or down!
Be safe and sane when playing with fireworks.

This is the central town of Isle Delfino, the tropical setting of Super Mario Sunshine.

Wow! That blue ocean is bright on the eyes.

stage02_070601a-l.jpg

Ahh… It makes me want to swim.

This particular battle stage flies around the skies above the island.

stage02_070601b-l.jpg

Fly here and there as you look down on the town below.

After a thrilling landing, it becomes a normal battle stage.

stage02_070601c-l.jpg

There are several landing points.

This flight path repeats, providing great sightseeing and brawling.
The changing scenery is so beautiful, you get absorbed in it.

stage02_070601d-l.jpg

You really feel like a tourist!

mball02_070605a.jpg

Groudon

This is the Pokémon that appeared on the packaging for Pokémon Ruby. Its bright red body is quite striking.

mball02_070605b-l.jpg

Groudon appears!

mball02_070605c-l.jpg

It… It’s HUGE!

It's always hot to the touch.

It won’t harm the player who called it, though, so use that to your advantage.

mball02_070605d-l.jpg

Hot! Hot! HOTTT!

The Nintendo Wii really is a versatile piece of hardware.
I mean, when it comes to controllers, there are pretty much four different types.

I guess I have no choice but implement them all!

various01_070608a.jpg

There’s no need to be confused about what does what—just choose the play style you prefer!

I suppose I would recommend the Nintendo GameCube controller, though. I like the feel of that powerful rumble.

Still, try out the other controls—they definitely give you a fresh experience.

Hmm? How do you do smashes and dashes with just the Wii Remote?
If I get the chance to tell you, I will.

Note: I will only be posting significant information about the new game.

It looks nice, only complaint is that it is only for nentindo wii, why can nentindo never make something like this for the computer as well since by the looks of it their motion sensing controler is not needed and thus a modern computer with an average game controler could more than qualify to run it and would probably bring in about double the revenues. But that is nentindo for you.

Well anyway if I ever get a wii I will most lightly pick it up since I liked both the N64 orignal SSB and the GameCube SSBM.

I would also think it is highly likely that SSB:B for wii will support multiplayer through internet gaming due to the fact that it was a major fan based wish from the eariler SSBs and their wii supports multiplayer easily unlike the gamecube.

I'm pretty sure it has been announced somewhere before that it will be online playable.

And Nintendo likes to keep its games for its own systems most likely so people have to buy their systems.

fox.jpg

Fox is just one of many so-called speed characters. His costume has been completely updated, so he’s full of fighting spirit.

Run! Fly! Move boldly! For such moves are the essence of Fox!

The pastel stage of Yoshi’s Island...
Mmm... It feels nice and peaceful here.

stage03_070612a-l.jpg

The central platform tilts to and fro.

Shy Guys often make guest appearances, and the Support Ghost can appear suddenly, aiding players on occasion.

stage03_070612b-l.jpg

The whimsical Support Ghost.

The highlight of this stage is its seasonal changes, as it goes from spring to summer to fall and then winter.

stage03_070612c-l.jpg

Fall comes...

stage03_070612d-l.jpg

And even in winter, the brawl battles on.

It certainly has its own distinct air.
Change is sometimes good.

New stage.

Crates and Barrels

When broken, many items tumble out of crates and barrels.
Previously, wooden crates and barrels were pretty much garden-variety.

This time around, these items change visually to match the mood of the stage.

item03_070614b-l.jpg

On sci-fi type stages they take on a futuristic tone.

item03_070614c-l.jpg

On more fantastic stages, they look more like presents.

When you receive a present, open it! There are items inside!
Use them as you will.

...By the way, this time we’ve thrown "sliding boxes" into the mix.

item03_070614d-l.jpg

Just when you think you’re going to break it open to get the prize inside...

item03_070614e-l.jpg

Off it goes!

It...makes things hectic!

Be careful and make sure you don’t get knocked for a loop by a box madly rushing downhill.
Cratesn'barrels.

Wario getting smacked off the stage by the crate is priceless.

I'm open for the new controlling, I'll see if it's any more fun than the original. Otherwise I'll stick to the one I know best.

Samus

Her name is Samus Aran. She joins us from the Metroid games.
Look at her Power Suit shine!

Her arm cannon is equipped with a variety of weapons.
Mastering all of them is the first step towards victory.

Awsome. I never thought they would've found a way to improve Samus's look. But they did :)P) so major props. Maybe it's the shiny armor..

I had an internship at Nintendo and you know what? The processer on the Wii is only slightly larger than the GameCube, like a 5% increase, and the graphics system is also very close [8% increase], all they did to make the Wii was slim it down and add a new control system. But it sure as hell works!

<Triforce Slash>

Is he using the Triforce to slash enemies? Or is it the Triforce doing the slashing?

You don’t have time to ponder such questions, as Link has just grabbed a Smash Ball.

link_070618a-l.jpg

Light shoots out from the Triforce on the back of Link’s hand, striking his opponents!

link_070618b-l.jpg

Link dashes into the fray! Enemies are trapped by the Triforce.

link_070618c-l.jpg

He strikes repeatedly with lightning speed!

link_070618d-l.jpg

And then comes the finishing strike! SKRAAAAH!

If you suffer this fate, there is little hope for you. But remember: damage alone will not finish you in Smash.

If you’re lucky enough to strike solid ground, you just might be saved.
Link's final smash.

I wonder what Pit's is. Most likely a huge barrage of superpower holy arrows

And fox's is probaly either an airstrike or a super dash attack

<Volt Tackle>

What is Volt Tackle? It’s Pikachu’s Final Smash!

That pretty much describes it. You don’t need an Electric Ball to unleash it, but you do need a Smash Ball.

pikachu_070619a-l.jpg

Volt Tackle is unleashed! Pikachu transforms into a ball of light.

pikachu_070619b-l.jpg

You can now control that ball of light for a brief period.
Hunt them! Hunt them down!

pikachu_070619c-l.jpg

It’s quite speedy while airborne. This...can be dangerous.

It flies through the air wildly, so take care not to lose control.

If it gets cancelled in midair, something terrible will happen.

pikachu_070619d-l.jpg

Ah... This doesn’t look good.
This looks like amazing fun.

Wario

Many fans clamored for Wario to join the fray, and so now he finally makes his appearance...in his WarioWare costume.

It’s rumored that this unpredictable character will give birth to a form of martial arts that other characters cannot even see.

<Down Special Move: Reflector>

Did you notice that thing dangling from Fox’s waist?
What is that?

Yup, that’s his Reflector.

fox_070621a.jpg

This is it.

fox_070621b-l.jpg

Take it out to initiate the Reflector!

It perfectly reflects projectile weapons fired at him. It’s a fine piece of weaponry, and one that most fighters envy.

<Standard Special Move: Blaster>

fox_070621c-l.jpg

The design of Fox’s blaster has also changed.

Enemies won’t flinch at the impact of its shots, but it does have rapid-fire capabilities. It’s the perfect weapon for stealing KOs.

The Lylat System is the general term for the region of space featured in the Star Fox games.

Here, you will fight on top of a spaceship while warping to various locations.

stage04_070622a-l.jpg

The name of this high-speed spacecraft is the Pleiades.

The fight rages on as the ship barrels through asteroids, dogfights, and even the atmosphere of Corneria. A-Are you going to be OK?

stage04_070622b-l.jpg

Asteroid belt! And here’s Team Star Fox in battle!

stage04_070622c-l.jpg

Here we are entering the atmosphere. Without spacesuits!

stage04_070622d-l.jpg

The planet’s upper atmosphere. A clear, refreshing vista.

stage04_070622e-l.jpg

Cut through an epic space battle!
How are they breathing? And why is there gravity? I suggest that you not worry about it too much.
Here's two.
