i know you already use 'site rank icons', but i have another suggestion for those icons,

Look Here

perhaps useing those icons, instead of the "giant" icons (for instance the admin icon ralle uses and the mapmaking award icon)
those icons are a little bit too big, doesn't really look right :S
though, perhaps some new icons should be made, like a new icon for mapmaking awards and other if this way could be used.
btw, there are many there uses this way of showing how useful their members are.

Well, maybe a little expansion on Archain's idea, for the big awards we could have a special in everyone's profile for these awards, and a like under their avatar to see their awars or something.

no that would be unwise. sometimes people look for those rare maps or there favourite version. perhaps if you had a section called popular maps which contains all maps with over 5 downloads.

anyway here's an example of what i mean (something like this)
it's mostly clans that uses this way though, but as i said, we could make our own to so they fit for the members rank

this is the way we use at clan wenw

I did give you a choice of which purple colour I would be using when you complained about indigo, and you had no problems with this shade then.

besides saying that it looks stupid isn't really related to you in person, perhaps the idea though

anyway, the reason why i don't like it is not because of you, but that it simply look.. well.. (no offense) newbish, in a way :?
and then there's the thing about reading it, im not really having any problems reading it, but it appears someone else does.

Saying an idea of mine is stupid is the same as calling me stupid, my ideas are me, without thought I do not, for all intents and purposes, exist as an individual.

Also, the reading problems with my font colour have all been much discussed here, and as you can see no one had problems with the colour I swapped to then, including bob.

In any case, this is all going rather off-topic, so this is the last I'll say on the subject.

EDIT: Almost forgot, but I rather like seeing how many posts someone has on-the-spot, along with their signup date, because it gives a good indication of how active they are.

well i don't know why ralle removed that, but i'll talk to him about it.
though join date isn't really that much needed, if ppl want to see when a member joined, then they should look at their profile.
and keep the post count, it's usally general for a forum to show this.

Shados: No offense but saying that your ideas are you will not make you come that far, cause that will make you take every constructive criticism too close and maybe making you stop working at all instead of listening to other people.. However since your font-color is not really a project it isn't that relevant, but still..

personally i like it. the colour is intresting and makes a change from the boring black and white the rest of us use. while even shados can admit it was hard to read at one point we made a comprimise. if you think it looks stupid then fine, but what if i were to say the new rank sytem is stupid? what if i were to say your avatar is stupid? i can clearly see how it can be taken personally. none the less it is a personal choice of colour or avatar or anything and i dont think he should change it unless it is a problem. i dont think it is....

a few notes for the rank thing, can we keep post count and location and all that? the little box where the info is looks a bit bland.. still you guys decide, make a nice ranking system. i hope faith that it will look good. i would much like to keep my award and also my position as moderator (longest serving moderator

). any news on developments would be nice.

well i have to admit i usally don't just say something is stupid without a reasonable opinion to back it up. ´
But still i didn't mean anything bad with it and it was just a 'quick site note' (something to keep in mind).
And yes, the way ppl think are a part of them, aswell as their ideas. (unless they have been corupted in some way

)

and this whole thing about the purple color, is actually related to this site in some way.

I'm trying to find a good highly customizeable one, if I can we could customize it so it fits in the warcraft universe, although it would probably need it's own forum you could just add that as a sub-forum of the Lobby.
