Warcraft III sites down? Ok whats wrong....

Both Samods.org and wc3campaigns.net are either down or dead or something. I cannot access their sites I get that "page cannot be displayed" "cannot connect to server" thing. What is happening with these sites?

Just like everything else, websites occasionally require maintenance.

It's my personal hope that administrators (or important moderators) of those sites will stop by our Hive and fill us in about what's happening (especially if the duration of the downtime is expected to be prolonged).

That aside, I'd say... just stay tuned. Those sites both have very competent administrations and I trust that they'll get things back up and running in short order.

Wc3c is down all the time, no biggie. Samods I never actually used so if that goes down or not I don't care much about, though I thought Samods had a few major projects going so I don't know why it should suddenly close down.

What's up with the website? Every time I go to it it gives me some timed out error but then if I go back one page and then forward one it works, then I click on something such as resources and same thing occurs and after that nothing works no matter what. Is it like half-down for maintenance or experiencing Tech difficulties?

It happens: websites require maintenance from time to time. When their staff finishes whatever work they're doing, the site is sure to be back up in short order.

Here at THW we possess a (not so) "secret weapon" that is not present at any other site: Ralle.

His own custom-built server software automagically restarts our Hive's server when its load reaches a certain level. We all feel the lag time when the server is restarting, both on the boards and in the chat room.

The system(s) that he has installed on our server guarantee that actual down time is very short (usually two minutes or less) and that absolute stone-dead downtime is nearly impossible, short of one of the hardware techies physically unplugging the server itself.
