What do you think of that campaign? Personally, I think it was kind of good and I have not seen any other campaigns that had such an interesting story.

What are your thoughts about it? Who are you favourite characters etc?

In fact, there's already a thread about it but it was closed for some reason.

I think cinematics are way too long and boring.

Some missions, like the murloc assault on Empire of Jin, are AWESOME, but 50% lack an idea, are just boring and repeat all the time.

Med. Map Guy made BETTER campaigns imo. With better and more entertaining story.

Oh, and a personal question SantaBla- why was Vasilisk dethroned by You?

Lol Andreijj, he just got bored... That's why he gave me chieftain...

I have to disagree with you a bit here, I think its the cinematic that makes the game so interesting. They are long yes, but the more you read them, the more you understand the plot and the more you learn about the characters. If you played one of the missions in book 5, you learn all about the characters' relations with each other. That was awesome. Med.Map guys campaigns were quite good but the story wasn't that complex.

And the missions were not boring... Perhaps only for book 1 it was. But for me getting a base and destroying other bases felt like I was playing Wc3 and I love big armies. Some missions really required thinking to win. Or some missions really affect the later missions... For example, if you don't kill the murlocs, they will become your enemy later on because you change sides very often.

In fact, the missions were not exactly same, some had aos in it...

Oh and I really enjoyed the difficulty too. It was like a big challenge to me. I finished the whole campaign without cheats and it was a really huge satisfaction.

Try the first mission of book 4. It's not easy and I had to save/load several times to win.

I found the first mission of Book 4 fairly easy. The one I had to use cheats in was the first mission where you played with Abolisher, it was just impossible to hold them. If you used High Upkeed army, you wouldn't have enough gold to rebuild your force after an attack.

Well like I said, it wasn't only about destroying bases. It also contained maps like the dynasty warriors one or the one where you could even give orders to other bases. Did you forget the ddr minigame too or the summoners duel? I mean, there's quite a bit a of variety there, what did you want instead? TD?
At least, base destroying is cooler than just one guy walking around and killing creeps, something that I find quite a lot in Daedra's Tale and in the 1st book of WoS.

And even if you have to destroy bases, each map is very detailed, including all those quests that you have to use to your advantage to win the game.
But wait, don't the wc3 campaigns mostly involve destroying bases too? So why the fuss? I mean man, using soul powers on an entire army is really fun :D.

And I still don't understand how you found the first chapter of book 4 easy...
You get only two heroes and if Nekurow dies, you're screwed. Sometimes while you're killing creeps, the undead just catch you offguard behind and kills you...

I loved it, it was so cool because they had custom abilities, side quest actions had conquences in later campaigns! You could even chose what your hero was! I loved how many options thier were!

Santa, I have nothing against missions similiar to normal wc3 campaign- you got base, you need to destroy enemy base. You know what makes those missions bad in WoS? The races. They are just weak. Most altered melee maps have better...

Look at the Zerg model as some flying Defiler in spider race- it looks SOOOO BAD. Doesn't suit the rest at all.

Playing ladder is much better(much more fun) than playing missions of that type in WoS...

Well you're gonna rant about one defiler in the campaign, and they are maybe weak but the races are not supposed to be balanced anyway.

well as you see, the campaign does not excel in visuals but it's pretty refreshing to see them nevertheless.

For you, visual is the main aspect you should look at before playing a campaign. Not for me.

I have seen great campaigns with much better visuals than WOS. However, WOS has the greatest story of all other custom campaigns I played (Including Med Map Guys). Playing WOS was a bit like reading a book.

Another thing I would like to point out is that the main characters' personality are very well developed and they keep growing as you further advance in the game.

I'm saying that races were BORING. Only one, really new unit- the guy with a scythe.

That's probably because you didn't finish the campaign entirely. There were in fact, many customised units. The guy with a scythe, that's in the early books.
