Because the staff find it morally wrong, they take up too much space, and it weakens creativity. All game exports are frowned upon here. If you want them, go some place that supports it.

Even if they say it's okay, it's this site's policy.

It's morally wrong because you're finding good looking models, shouldn't it be just as wrong then to use Starcraft Models or Warcraft II Icons? I don't see why it's so bad, but I don't need to download any exports here, I was just wondering.

All the starcraft models are custom made, some stolen from PR, but still custom, not exported.

But yes, the main thing is that WoW exports take up way to much space, and are out of place in the Warcraft III universe.

And don't say, "Then make a whole map using only WoW models," because that would be disastrous.

I'm just thinking that if Blizzard is openly supporting a map that has WoW models in it, then there is nothing legally wrong with using them. Maybe some people feel cheated that a person can make a map with great models without any real effort, like creating them on their own, and this is where you say morals come into play. I just think if a models cool, and it's not illegal, it should be open to use! I don't say this site should support it though, that's up to the moderators and Ralle, of course. Will we support maps that contain ripped WoW models though? That's what I'm trying to get at.

the reviewers at that site from my knowlege are NOT OFFICIAL employees of blizzard and they often support maps that are rated upon hosting and reviews by bnet players.

Battlenet. is a separate company created by blizzard, they merely host the online contents of blizzard (the hosting of the online servers for sc and war3 etc).

The WoW models ARE NOT COOL, they have no decay animation, are often horribly bugged, take far too much space, lag the game due to polies, do not fit in with the game and missing alot of elements like sound, attachments, properly named bones and footprints.

and remember, blizzard did not make the models, they are not generated out of nowhere, someone like you and me who has the skills makes the models by themself, and they personally still own the models. blizzard employes them and pays them so the model can be used for their games and other products.
