useless icons, skins, spells,...

When I was watching arround on the site, I've found icons that are poorly or NEVER download.
Same with skins, spells,...

I don't know but eh, 10-15 times downloaded isn't that useless on the site? Since they take much place. Much? Yes, image : 50 icons from 10 kb = 500kb useless space. Skins and spells are taking more space.

I suggest a system or someone that controls it sometimes. Like: After a week, 5 times or lesser downloaded = auto-delete.

Bad idea. Even if this site applied that rule, all author just download his resource himself, so it wouldn't be deleted.

If a resource doesn't violate any rule, so it has right to stay here, regardless how many times it get downloaded. Maybe some people consider that most of resources which have less download counter is a bad resources, but don't be an elitist, as long as they doesn't violate any rule, i think they's fine.

I agree with Loapard, but the icon section is still litterly FULL of crap that brakes rules, the icon section should be purged from those crappy made icons. There are still a lot of icon without disabled icons and CnP from tv, movies etc. is like a desease.

Problem solved. Ok, let's get back to business:

Ex-AnGel, I know there are still a lot of stolen icons. However, I don't know all the possible games or sources from where they could've been taken. So in conclusion, I asked in the rules for people to help me make remove those icons, by PMing me if they find such a resource. I already deleted more than 100, but I can't just do it once. The section is big and the purge can only be made in steps: First obvious rulebreakers, then not so obvious, and so on...

Right now when I came online I saw those Age of Empire icons. They were all crappy because of the massive blur. Conclusion? I deleted them all and warned the author for not properly reading the rules.

Sure, your help would be extremely appreciated. Only one thing, Veggie asked me to try and have a look at the icon's downloads as well. If it has a considerable number of downloads (I would say 100) I may leave it, depending on how important is the rule it breaks.

Icons without the metal border
Poorly shaded icons
Really stupid icons

Already existent WAR3 icons
Must have an correct looking DISBTN
No ingame screenshots
CnP's must be really good looking.
This are the rules, just a question : are icons from other games allowed?
Because there are a lot of icons from Diablo II, WoW,.. Since paste and copy ain't allowed.
Or will there come a category for them?

or.... we w\could simply have a delte request function in the icon seciton. might i also add that the dete request fuction needs to have the ability to have a list of reasons for deletion so you could know if people want it gone becuse it's stolen.

I agree with Afro. In fact, I wanted the maps section to have delete requests aswell. That would be a great help to me on the Maps Section.

I agree with Rui. The number of maps will soon reach 4000 and there is a lot of crap. Moreover, the maps are the biggest (by size) type of resource on the site.
