Turret Head and Tank Head Rotation (how to make?)

1) I am making a turret model and I need to make a turret model with a head that automaticly moves to attack in directions witout the base turning. i heard it is bone turret but i dont know how it works

2) also i want to know how to make a tank head that rotates to attack different locations faster than it moves

i am using gMAX for animations, i dont know how to sdo attachment points as well, ty for your help

First things first, you cannot get it working exactly like the sprite-based Siege Tank in Starcraft

Anywho, you need to make the bone that the launcher is on to be called "bone turret"

My suggestion? Check out the good ol' Cannon Tower

i don't really understand how you mean about the starcraft siege tank because I wasn't really refering to it but simply any tank model that has a head and a lower armored part. basically if you played C&C original you will notice how it moves and attacks
. but I know that somehow an attachment point must be made so that the top can turn around and attack even if the tank is driving at a different direction. And once again, I will say that I don't know how to make attachment points but if it is simple to explain, explain or refer me to a link that will

i dont know how to open the cannon tower model but ill experiment with that bone turret on my unit
