EDIT:

Guys, I only keep this up for entertainment (and general discussion) purposes. I bet you can spot the problem right away.

I am so tired. I have been working on this too long.

So yeah this really should be the sort of problem you get yourself with some trouble shooting, seeing how the triggers connect, seeing if there is something wrong with the unit types in the unit editor, but so far I'm getting nowhere. I have NO idea why this trigger works perfectly fine for the two other types of units but the one marked in red just doesn't eliminate its dummy unit and move the original unit back like it's supposed to.

EDIT: It gets even weirder. Every single other trigger related to this unit and connected to this trigger works perfectly fine.

Setup Trigger:

The dummy unit ("R War Memorial (inactive)") remains, the original unit does not more back into place.

Even though, again, that setup works for the other two cases.

Any idea what else I could check?

Possible issues/solutions:
  • Units with the Locust ability won't be picked up by Unit Groups (Set PortGroup = Units...). Check if that unit has this ability.
  • The Unit-types in the Conditions don't match. Maybe you have two units with the same name?
  • Try displaying Text Messages to properly debug what's going on and confirm that these Actions are running.
  • You're causing another trigger to run that is interfering with this process.

Thanks :) This is indeed very useful for trouble shooting in general, so for that alone it's good I made this thread.

That being said, the issue was actually infuriatingly simple.
The "Event" section doesn't match the rest of the second trigger. The Unit type needed for the unit further down in the trigger is not listed
