Hi guys. I was thinking of adding a new race to a standard WC3 map just so I can get more familiar with triggers, and I want to learn how when you start the game a box pops up and choses what race you want to be, then 5 peons and a base will pop up according to race chosen. Thanks.

Firstly I recomend you figet with triggers and learn how they work
Then play with dialog boxs or what ever they are called.
Finaly stick your knowledge together and do what you want.

I am not beeing mean but even this was obvious to me when I first started triggering.

You have to mkae the thing with buttons then add a button.
Set that new button to a veriable and then when a button is presses check which button it was by using the veriables then do the actions for the discovered button.
To make 5 peons and a base you can simply create 1 base at every player's starting locations and then 5 peons around it, each slightly offset.

Dialogue boxes are a little complicated. I think there is a tutorial on them on the tutorial section, but another easy way is opening up a map that uses one and see how the author made it. You need basic comprehension of trigger and variable usage before you can easily do that though.

Once you get the dialogue box down, you'll have to spawn the peons or other starting worker units in a start region based on which button was pressed by the player.
