Tooltip Errors

I just remembered I used to have trouble with tooltips sometimes displaying the message wrong, or just not displaying it at all. It would take something like, 'Throws a magical hammer that stuns the opponent and lowers strength for a short time', and turn it into 'Xf $%...g*&..'. Either that or just not display the tooltip at all (blank). Anyone else ever had this problem?

Not sure why I'm asking, just curious I guess.

Well, tooltips look gibberish if you forget to close the color code or a reference to a unit stat (for example: water elemental's HP) or stuff like that.
Other than that I can't imagine anything else, but I'm not experienced with tooltips.
I'll check for that, but I highly doubt that's the reason as I've had them working for a while, then quite on me.

I forgot to mention that I was using one base spell for multiple spells. This could have an effect, but I think I already checked that.

If you are using one base spell for multiple spells (unless they are spellbook or channel) you will have troubles casting them because they have the same base order id. When you order to cast one it will cast a random one if they are on the same unit. I don't think this is your problem. But I don't know how to solve your problem. This might be an issue though.

I know that, and trust me I made sure that wouldn't happen.

To further explain, I was making a quest system in GUI. I used spells as the quests (both to receive and read). I give them to shops so you can cast them. Then I make the receive quest a spell that casts on allied units. This way you the hero can cast a spell from the quest giver (if you give a unit Select Hero, you can use it's spells) on yourself. This then adds a quest to your quest book (as a passive ability on another unit on the map). To make multiple spells I simply copied the spells from the other quest and changed the descriptions and triggers. I did try using all different spells, but it didn't help.

. . .

I still would use different spells. Not for your problem. But it might cause problems later on.
Nice system though.

For your problem,

I have never had that error before.

Perhaps like emperor_d3st suggested you are missing some thing in colour change/unit referencing.

You seem fairly sure your not though so it might be an issue. If you want you could sed me the map (or at least parts of it) and I will see if it happens to me too. Don't worry I will not rip it off. If you don't want too that's O.K too.

Just trying to help, hawk900.
