In those triggers unit - order unit to damage unit/area, you can specify damage type. There's a whole list there with things like "enhanced", "poison", "universal" and about 10 others. does it make any difference what you choose? What is the point of it?

There are actually two things you can change there. There is the attack type, which would be what you are talking about, like pierce, chaos, and so on, but then you can change the damage type, and there are all these different kinds, like "mana burn" damage and "force", "sonic", and "death". I've never heard of those before.

Hmm, I see what you mean. My experience with them showed me they didn't do anything, so till know I can't see the reason why Blizzard added this to the trigger. The names of that damage types come from different abilities (-> slow poison), but whatever I tried they never affected the units in the way the ability did. If someone else knows more, plz tell.

Indeed. I thought that maybe "mana burn" damage makes the blue numbers appear over their heads, but I haven't tested that yet. It would make sense and even be useful if there was a condition that "damage type equal to x", but I couldn't find one like that. I guess one thing you could do to do that would be to save that damage type as a variable and then check the variable as a string or something.
Or maybe I just did not look hard enough.
