The War of Khaz Modan: Thorium and Death

A new AoS map I'm working on.

Short storlyine:

The 'story' takes place when the Undead scourge decides to invade the dwarven lands of Khaz Modan, because of a recent rumor of an ore found in the mounts of Khaz Modan by the name of Thorium. This ore could be used to forge extremely tough metal, and both races - Dwarves and Undead - want to use it for their own needs. The resident Trolls and Nerubians took this situation for their own advantage and are now selling various items and are hiring various mercenaries for the dwarven and undead armies.

Features:

  • Upgrades for your units are available at the Blacksmith or Graveyard - in addition to basic damage\armor upgrades, you will also be able to research new units or upgrade your already spawning units. As an example, you'll start with only Warriors and Axe Throwers(or their Undead counterparts: Skeleton Warriors and Crypt Fiends) spawning at your base, but you'll be able to research in order to upgrade them into Shieldbreakers(from Warriors), Riflemen(from Axe throwers), Ghouls(from Skeleton Warriors) or Crypt Crawlers(from Crypt Fiends). You will also be able to research in order to allow new units to spawn - such as the Steam Tanks, Flying Machines, Necromancers, Frost Wyrms, Gargoyles and Steam Fortresses.
  • Each race has it own "ultimate" unit - Steam Fortress(Dwarf) and Frost Wyrm(Undead) - who are very powerful units whose spawn time is very long and they require researches to be made before they are able to spawn.
  • Mercenary\item shops available to both races.
  • 3 unique heroes for each race.

Offensive\support role - abilities are focused on inflicting damage to masses of enemies(creeps) and on supporting nearby units.

1. Warcry: The Thane shouts out a loud warcry, boosting near allied forces damage and defense.

2. Moralizing Aura: The units around the Thane gain morale and inspiration from the presence of their Thane, boosting their damage.

3. Lightningstorm: The Thane channels to bring forth a powerful lightning storm, damaging units in an area.

Ultimate - Lightning Nova: The Thane calls forth a great nova of lightning, damaging all units in a big radius, with a chance to stun them for 5 seconds. All units that were hit by the nova will be dazed by it's power, slowing their movement and attack speed.

Err... that ultimate is easy to trigger.
If the spell is instant, it's just grabbing every enemy unit within x range and dealing x damage to them. Then make a temporary integer, randoming it 1-100, if it's less than a certain number (acting as your percent), make a dummy unit to cast a dummy storm bolt at them.

Unless you're trying to make it more graphical, like have the lightning ripple out, then you can do it in stages. There are a lot of maps in the spells section that have this sort of effect.
