Using the World Editor again I've started to mess around with the Game Interface - a couple of questions:

1 - Is there just a plain black icon I can use to replace the gold/lumber/food icons? Using none will just give me a green ugly box.

2 - The Sound - Job's Done I want removed so I selected an empty box in the drop-down menu; however this way the game would treat it as its default sound and continue to play it whenever I finished a building. So I switched it, at random, to Abomination Pissed and voilá - no sound is being played whenever a construction is finished. Even when I select another unit sound I get nothing; this is great and all but what's up with that? What if I actually wanted to play another sound other than the default one and I get nothing?

[EDIT] - Another question, unrelated to the title sorry

3 - Is it possible to change the location of the Building "ability" icon? Or is this hardcoded and I'll just have to live with having it at the very bottom left corner of the unit GUI?

Thanks in advance!

1 - I don't think there's an existing black box... but I think you can do it yourself, isn't that hard to paint a small box black and importing it back to Wc3, or? :D

2 - Hmm normally Wc3 needs some variable Sounds, that are working, when you're using an empty string Wc3 can nothing do with it, but also thinks there's something wrong and still wants to play a sound, it then can play the default sound or just a random one.. same for the other parts, if you leave the Iconfield from the Buff-status information on Units empty, you'll get a random icon and it's really random.. So again, record some sound that contains nothing.. but you need a file for it.. import the empty sound file into wc3 and select it, should work then..

3 - Yeah it's as easy as all other Icons.. It's an ability like the others in Wc3.. so just go to the object editor and search for it.. all you have to do is changing the X and Y positions..

[X0/Y0][X1/Y0][X2/Y0][X3/Y0]
[X0/Y1][X1/Y1][X2/Y1][X3/Y1]
[X0/Y2][X1/Y2][X2/Y2][X3/Y2]

it's something like this, the X and Y could be the other way round, I don't know it exactly, just try which value is getting to 2 and the other one to 3 =)

Thanks for the answers. However I cannot find the Build ability in the object manager - tried searching for it as well. What's strange though is that I find it in the drop-down list when you add an ability to a Unit. But not in the ability manager itself so I cannot really edit the ability.

Any ideas?

I think build ability is a strange one because you can fail to give it to a builder and still he will have it as long as he's got some buildings to build.

Probably it will just move to the next unoccupied slot.

PurplePoot thanks for the texture location.

So if I understand this correct there's no real way to set the location of the Building Ability icon on a unit's GUI?
