V 1.14 (9/27/18)

- Players can type “-skip” to skip the initial setup time
- Shops at the center are now player owned so you can sell
- Upgrade Immunity Breaker now grants Shield Breakers 150 bonus damage
- Upgrade Arcane Treasures now drops the newer items and drop chance increased
- Arcane Fire Tower damage increased from 118 to 130
- Arcane Adept physical damage decreased from 22 to 19
- HP for ethereal level 22 decreased by 25%

Choose one of seven races and defend otherworldly beings known as "The Four" from being destroyed.
Building wisely and using your hero's abilities to their maximum effect are the only ways to defeat the swarms of enemies and reach the ominous ending.


There are 41 levels and 4 difficulties.

Recommended for 1-4 players.

View Quest Log in-game for quick and helpful information.

* Building Races *

[Tech] A race with a versatile array of armaments to defend against almost any type of enemy. Unmatched in wealth management.

[Arcane] A race that wields arcane magics to break enemy shields with ease. Its towers are unmatched in range but can be impeded by those that go unseen.

[Elemental] A race whos powerful combinational magics can be hard to master. Only those that are immune can walk confidently past its towers.

[Hunter] A race that uses traps and poisons to hunt down prey. Effective at focusing down fleeing enemies but is threatened by swarming attackers.

[Ancient] A race that prides itself in its longevity and ancestral magics. Only those that take haste and flight need not fear them.

[Storm] A race that can bend the skies to its will. While its power can be a slow progression, once harnessed, it would be folly to travel through its storms.

[Tesla] A race that specializes in charging its towers to unleash devastating damage. Those that choose the path of shadow and darkness fear them. Only the heavily armored can push through thier defenses.

* Beginner Tips *

- All hero skins have the same abilties.

- Enemies spawn from the black marble.

- It's best not to use Bestow Strength every level since you need to reserve mana for detection and armor. Mana potions are available at the shop.

- Detection will not last the entire level, you will often have to cast it twice.

- Each level is different in that the enemy can have certain abilities like shield, invisibility or sprinting. Knowing what your race is strong/weak against is key to your victory.

- Certain attack-types will do more or less damage to certain armor-types. See Quest Log for details.

- Build your main base in a safe area away from attackers.

- Only research 2 race upgrades if you want to reserve lumber for your ultimate tower.

- If a player leaks, send your hero to the center to protect The Four.

- Buy an orb from the marketplace so your hero can attack air units.

- You collect souls by killing enemies. Spend these souls at the Soul Collector.


* Useful Commands *

"-tips" - turns tips on/off

"-give [player colour] [gold amount]" - gives the player gold
- Example: -give purp 30
- Colours: red, blue, teal, purp

"-lumber [player colour]" - gives the player 1 lumber
- Example: -lumber red

"-[level-type]" - shows all the levels with the specified type
- Example: -invis
- Level-types: invis, air, shield, attacker, sprinter, undead, immune, hero, eth

"-[armor-type]" - shows the damage breakdown of the armor
- Example: -medium
- Armor-types: normal, medium, heavy, small, unarmored, fortified, heroic

"-[race]" - shows more details about the race (ex. -storm)
- Races: tech, arcane, elemental, hunter, ancient, storm, tesla


* Difficulty *

Casual - 85% hp and damage
Normal - 100% hp and damage
Nightmare - 115% hp and damage
Impossible - 130% hp and damage

- Buffs from hero abilities are not visible on certain towers but the effects still work
- Certain orbs may glitch with Tesla Weapon upgrade. Drop item and pickup to fix.

    Originality


    A variation of TD with the defended unit having a chance of retaliation, something which you don't get to see everyday in TD.

    Score: 70/100

    Presentation


    The presentation is decent. It fits the standard and has all necessary component, as well as some decorative form of text to entertain visitors to try the map. There's a problem : the map version is below 1.0, which is assumed as not yet finished development. Until a confirmation is made to confirm if the map is in BETA/ALPHA or already completed, the map will remain in Awaiting Update.

    Design


    The way the game is designed is good, and there's actual sense of progression. When it comes to used materials, utilizing what the game has to offer saves a lot of map space. It might be a good idea to use some imports to enhance some materials, but that is up to the maker.
    For the sake of convenience, don't name the enemy Player 10 and Player 11, but actual enemy name like Forces of Evil or something like that.

    Terrain


    Simple flat terrain but fits enough for a TD map. However, the spacing can be reduced so the terrain size can be smaller.

    Triggers


    The code are well done. I cannot find any lag or bug during my tests. Here's one think : don't convert GUI to custom text if there's no big reason to (e.g actually using Jass code), cause reading them is a pain.

    Object Data


    Arcane Fire Tower has Improved Mansory, but cannot research it.
    If one build Void Gateway and Arcane Fire Tower, they will collide each other in term of model (resize will help fix this)
    The unit name can be simplified by removing the "Level x" in their name.
    Tooltip properly inform what an item, tower or skill do properly
    I suggest to get proper ATC icon for the Bestow Strength and Bestow Alacrity since it's suppose to have Autocast icon.
    Spectral Light buff said it increases MS and AS, but it actually decreases it

    Gameplay


    Some races are in better advantage than other at certain phases of the game. I noticed Arcane has a particularly big advantage in early game with it's high range. It's not that much of advantage, as each race has their difference.
    For new players, it might be hard to catch on with the small frame of start time. They might need 2 or so minutes instead of 1 to properly plan their strategy out. It's not a deal breaker though.
    The races are interesting. At least I can try 6 times to see what each race offers, so that's a replayability point.

    2. Could really use some difficulty choice, since the current one is quite challenging for newcomers.
    3. Could have more variation in how The Four reacts against attack (soul to give abilities for example). The current one is decent, but doesn't give much option to player in regard to The Four.
    4. Tower could have upgrades, but tower upgrades might be against the concept that the author wants to carry out with this map.
    5. Would be nice if the hero is selectable, at least model wise.
    6. I might've forgotten this in the previous review : when you teleport back to base from center, it says 'Red' while I go back to 'Teal' base.

    An interesting TD with potential for interesting different playstyle.

    Some things i noticed:
    Is it intended that the timer is shown the whole time? You could hide it as long as it stays on 0.
    You could make a multiboard instead of the existing killing list to show the number of souls and kills you have and perhaps the life of the four and living enemys to see if the four really need help. In addition you can show the next wave (normal, invis, attacker) so you don´t need to write -next and -souls.
    At last as Daffa the Mage already mentioned: The terrain is a little bit too big. It isn´t worth it to go to the four in the first 15 levels to help them, because it just needs too much time.

    The Tesla Engineer showed the floating text "supercharge is ready" the whole time!
    Is it intended that you cant really beat the final boss in the middle if you play alone?

    The changes you made are really good. I enjoyed the map!

    I played on normal. The Boss spawned way too much guards and had too much hp.
