Although I can't see what's the purpose of it, except attention whore-ing by seeing how many people would say some good stuff about him -.- I've seen it happen twice in two different forums 'till now with different persons and each time it turned out to be all made up ~_~ But I too couldn't stop laughing, when I saw the loot thing for the first time, hahah.
