Spell that disables the use of items in inventory

I planned on making a mine spell, that must also disable the inventory in addition to the abilities. Most important an ability that disables the inventory. I know Doom does this, but is there any other abilities that does the same? preferable AOE ability? I know that firelord soulburn doesn't disable inventory that way (I want to disable phönix fire abilities on items). Any other abilities?

I heavily doubt it. You might get away with moving all the unit's items to a dummy unit, then replacing their inventory with one that doesn't have the 'Use Items' boolean checked. Finally you would put back all the units items from the dummy. You could make a function out of that then call it for each unit!

That's odd, I recall having used it and it having not disabled them.

That would be great if silence can disable items. (That includes aura items and items with phönix fire abilities that usually ignores this). Illusions with items with phönix fire can actully fire it!

I have to know for sure that silence can disable the items as well. I only know they can disably abilities, but items to?


Otherwise I have to create a dummy to cast temporary doom on every unit within the area, to disable the inventories and abilities

hmm like auras.. well i didnt plan on that.. you could make the item instead have an ability, give the hero an ability that when used silenced or somthing remove the ability for the time being.

I was right - Silence doesn't stop item use.
