Some ideas for abilities

I thought i would just post some abilities i have made for my maps that are pretty cool. Whats even better is these aren't triggered spells. So for you beginner map makers, this will be easier to make on ur own
1.Tidal Wave- I used the beastmasters Stampede and replaced the lizards with crushing wave then i added a massive amount in the wave that comes so that there are crushing waves over lapping. What you get is a very thorough tidal wave that washes down ur enemies.

2. Electrical Discharge- This spell uses immolation as its spell base but the art is obviously different. I changed both the damage art to mana flare and effect art of my hero so it doesn't look very much like immolation. The mana flare art turned out very well.

3. Rage- This spell can be used practically by any unit that has a more demonic look to it. The base spell is Chemical Rage and if you notice the Goblin Alchemist he and his ogre turn colors. In that state you see a model which i will reference as a transform model. In one of my maps i used the Ranger model with the dark ranger for its tranform model and labeled the spell Rangers Rage. I don't believe theres many models you can correctly "transform" and make it fit right, but chance has it there are probably others that will work. And then obviously you change the stats to however you like.
4.Negative Auras- Negative auras can be made by first going into file then select preferences from the box that appears click the button that says to allow negative values. Then it will give you a warning that says watch what you do with negative values or you'll cause the game to crash etc. Now to actually create an aura with a negative value you start with one that gives a positive one. For example: Devotion aura can be change to reduce the armor of nearby units. When your done setting the stats then(THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) change the targets of who it affects. Change the targets to enemies only. You don't want yourself to lose armor. The same thing can be applied to practically any aura.

5. Entangling roots- so much can be done with this spell change the art, change the stats. You could make it so that the spell does no damage but keeps your enemies stranded for some time Etc. I used this base spell for an ability i called Crystalize. And it looks pretty decent too.

Those are some basic spells i will post some more later. I hoped these helped someone out there.

anyways, take Healing Spray.

set the damage fields to negative ( how much damage you want to deal, make this between 1 ( very weak ), and 20 ( very strong ) )

change the missle count to 1

change the wave count to 10x how long you want the spell to last ( in seconds )

set the damage interval to .1

IMPORTANT

max damage is how much damage the spell will deal if there is ONE UNIT IN THE AREA. if there is 2, it will be max damage/2, etc. Damage Amount is the MINIMUM amount of damage each target can take, so if maxdamage was -50, the enemies( and friends, if it affects them ) in the AOE are 99. Damage Amount is -20

normally, this would do ~.5 per unit, but in this case it will do 20 damage, because that is our damage amount

QUESTION I FORSEE--why not cluster rockets?

cluster rockets has to stun

oh yeah, also dont change the buff or the effect or this spell bugs and doesnt work.

now take silence

leave the buff art the same, but change the tooltip

now make the move speed modifier to .75 ( this is % faster ) ( YAY! THE UNITS ARE PANICKING! )

now set the attacks prevented to Melee

this stops all melee attackers hit from attacking. this can be used in many other combinations, including Ranged, and so on.
