Skinning Contest 10 Ideas

I know the poll for the ninth one isn't even up yet, but I see no harm in starting to brainstorm for the next one. Why leave until tomorrow what can be done today . I don't have any really good ideas right now, but I have one I think is sorta shitty. I think it would be cool to skin units of a certain race into units of another race. My Nightelf Paladin reskin of arthas that I just submitted to skins section is a good example. Turnin nagas into firebeasts or humans into nightelves or orcs into undead. Just a race transformation. I hope you all have better ideas than that piece of crap.

I like your idea for the Race Transfer idea. I don't really want a 'theme' if you know what I mean. Like fire, nature, or holy. The race to race thing gives us lots of freedom, but it restricts us to only a few models.

Anyways, my ideas is Ancestral and Arcane (AaA). Take whatever skin you want and make it into a 'caster' of some sort. Like with runes, arcane-imbued armor, and such.

Terrible and limited idea, why not just fucking cnp people would say. Honestly, id host a theme about creativity and originality, that theme lacks it, no originality at all.

I was merely giving an example of a pre-existing mounted/dismounted unit. You would have to succesfully fuse enough similarities into two different skins that people would think it was a mounted and dismounted version.

I still think that idea is a little limiting. I had another idea, maybe we could skin units into elementals. Not just by like turning the whole thing into a blob of color. But have cool armored elementals for all the elements. Also I really like the darkelf idea. There are tons of models you could use for it, not just four. I have some sweet ideas about how to make a decidedly evil looking elf of the darkness.

Why not turn undead/demonic creatures into living creatures. Not holy, but living.
Example:
Zombie > Old hunchback-like man
Archimonde > Human warlock

Or we could just turn any human/humanoid units to anthros. (_ _ *)

That idea would never work.

How about druids. You can skin a Druid of the [insert animal] along with the associated animal or make it diablo style by making druids in were-form. So human form druid along with animal form druid. And you cant skin the Druid of the Claw or Talon.

That would work, though I still like my Arcane and Ancestral idea, kinda similar in a sense. Your idea has lots of choice in it and is a good original idea. I think you should be able to skin Druid of the Claw/Talon but lose points for lack or creativity.

I still really like the dark elves idea. But I had another idea. Perhaps skin various units into creatures of the Void. Since there are only like 3 in Warcraft (Faceless Void, Void Walker, and I dunno what else). I think there are a lot of possibilities there, so we could have a lot of creative freedom.

Void stuff is hard to look good with simply a texture. Honestly, Water Elemental would basically be the best one you could do there.

Like I said restricting us to Elves is kinda limiting, considering not a lot of models have the ears and such. Though, we could have a 'Dark' theme. Like Dark Elves, Undead, and other Shadowy Creatures.

Ok so right now the options listed that people seem to like are as such
1. Dark Races, ex: Dark Elves, Undead
2. Race transformation, ex: turning a Spellbreaker into a Night Elf unit
3. Making druids, ex: making a Druid of the Shell, a druid that turns into a Makrura or something of the sort

So with these options..choose

All those ideas are very appealing. Druids are quite limiting, imo.

Dark Races is appealing. I don't usually do Dark skins so it'd be fun to try. It's not very limiting because you can do like a skeleton footman, or a dark elf.

Though Race Transformation sounds cool too. I wont be unhappy if we end up with that. It's a tad limiting, but not too bad.

My vote goes to Dark Races, because it gives you lots of freedom and I'm sure we'll get some interesting skins outta that, but all of those ideas are pretty nice.

Outta the ones listen though I'd say dark theme. Otherwise I'd like Ancestral/Arcane, which basically means Shamans, Druids, and Mages. Casters in general.

1# Special day! (Chirtsmass, Halloween, Easter, Saint-Patrick ..etc..) = lots of choice..
2# Funny skins! (make the funnyest skin that can be done) = an ogre in spiderman pijamas!
3# Pirate ARGG!! (make a unit into a pirate!) and we cant use Proudmore
4# Animal GRRrr!!! (make an humanoid into an animal) = ex: my tigerosh skin.
5# Human ??! (make animals wearing cloths ^^)
6# Horror theme!! (make the most scary skin aver made!

i suggest that we take one unit what isnt skined much and have a lot of potential, maybe drayad,druid of talon or dunno whatever unit, and all people skin it on random theme.

That's basically saying do what ever you want but start with one of the, approximatley, four unarmored unit textures. It's almost too much freedom.
