Maiev and her watchers arrived in the ruins of the orcish homeworld, Draenor. They soon discovered that Illidan had come alone, thus the recapture proved to be fairly easy. Then the naga had arrived on Outland, and they had brought new allies: the same blood elves that Maiev had helped before. Maiev and her soldiers fought the naga and their traitorous elven friends, but the new army outnumbered hers, and eventually she was defeated. The naga and blood elves recaptured Illidan and freed him. Upon the warden's final moments, Illidan decided to imprison her instead.Soon after that, Maiev would be contacted by Akama, unsatisfied by not being given the Black Temple as promised and the wary Maiev agreed to enter a partnership and vowed to see Illidan dead.

- In Chapter 7, An aesthetic issue of Blood Elf buildings due to using the same texture as the doodads.
- In Chapter 9, the pit lord and his minions can see you even when you are invisible, it's best to keep away from them.

If I may add, that's an awesome idea imo, and the Mag'har. Receiving some units after a certain point in time, like in "Under the Burning Sky" would be awesome in every way.

Skyguard has shorter range than Rangari, don't know if this was fixed in the new version.
Vindicator and Blood Knight should have caster tooltips.
Guardian should have a different death animation, hearing them die all the time is distracting.

Seventh level:

Ha. Ha. Ha. No.

No gold gatherers at the start, barely more moon wells than there are units, enemies attack at the same time, allies might as well not be there.

Interlude: Not sure if this is intentional, but Adal's portrait shows him as purple where his model is white.

Eighth level:

Scryer upgrade tooltips are unchanged (mention gunpowder, dwarf units, etc.).
Have I mentioned the fact that enemies attack simultaneously? This time they concentrate on the allies first, which is nice of them.
Illusions that deal damage? On a regular unit? I never knew how much I needed to send 12 illusory elephants to crush my enemies until this moment.

Kael'thas:
* The unchosen faction's upgrades should be set to your own instead of wherever the AI stopped upgrading.
* Miniboss cutscenes are unskippable.
* Astromancers have Sorceress tooltips.
* Waygates didn't turn off during the High Astromancer fight.

Ninth level:
Flyers can go through the main gate.
Pit Lord generator can be taken out from the Blood Elf base.
So are you supposed to kill the Demon Hunter before you kill the Pit Lord's generator?

Tenth level:
There should be enough food buildings to replace all lost units.
Can't say I really liked the final fight, too much going on for any real micro-ing. But at least there are enough units given for "throw everything and heal often" to work.
lllidan repeatedly says "I can feel your hatred." Similarly, all of Maeiv's line are used in quick succession.
Boss music keeps playing during the final cutscene, drowning out the dialogue.


Overall good, if in sore need of adjusted difficulties in some areas. I'd have liked more stealth segments (the Black Citadel infiltration is much more easily done by taking out the bases and then bringing in Maiev).
For unknown reasons, reading your large blocks of comments has always been very relaxing for me, almost like Warcraft therapy.

1. Can I play this on patch lower than 1.30? How about higher?

Answer:

1.32 a.k.a reforged - definitely no. Cause no custom campaigns!!
1.31 - you can but it may or may not broke some things.
1.30 - recommended patch so yes.
1.29 - I cannot say. Maybe?
1.28 below - I think not.

2. Where can I download 1.30 patch?

Ans: You can download it here, it requires CD-keys though.

Or if you want 1.31 cause you like risks it's here.
it says "the archive is corrupt" :((((

Finished all in insane difficulty and was satisfied in all aspects. :infl_thumbs_up: One suggestion tho: Shattrath mission was almost impossible to manage in insane difficulty. During the last five minutes, Aldor and Scryers bases were overwhelmed, and I was forced to corner Maiev and Anyndra with A'dal And Velen. Well, Velen really helped to hold off, but just before only one minute left, mission failed (Altar of Elders, the last structure, destroyed. xD)
How about adding Sons of Lothar as reinforcements? That would be a cool lore point and help.:grin: Good luck!
Just got an idea. What about giving A'dal global mass resurrection ability that is activated every ten minutes? But only for Insane difficulty :))

I'm testing on 1.30.4, the lag spikes on mission 2 returned, what i've noted is that these are more far in between than in 1.31 and with less duration.

Edit - I've been testing on my end with every trick even forcing the game to work on directx9, and reducing video settings to low, when my computer can run the game at full settings without breaking sweat.

If this helps, the peaks happen when heroes respawn from the Altar, when my units are created and saying their first line. And i'm going to guess that the ones not related to me are when enemy heroes respawn, and the attack waves are formed.

Edit 2 I've been working on this between my test, i need to clean the effects from the BE, the bones and ajust Maiev Pelvis bone.

That's pretty weird. I definitely did not change anything specifically that would cause that. I'm gonna take a look again if there is anything I can do.

When I lauch the game I can't see a loading screen, It's all black. Huhuhu T_T

Make sure you have the correct playable patch of Warcraft 3!

I'm happy to say that this campaign is playable now, and I'm very impressed by what it offers compared to the original version 1. There is twice as much content and story in this new version.
I didn't come across many bugs beside the Alchemist quest not triggering, and Magtheridon somehow dying on his own before I even arrived to fight him. The rest of the stuff are all working good.

Hello greetings, I hope you are well, I have a small problem that I cannot understand, in the submap of chapter 3, the citadel of hell fire, the mission is to kill matherigdon, I do not know if it is a bug, but that mission is not I have started it well when, matherigdon has been killed by some witch orcs, so I do not understand, what I should do, the orcs kill mathgeridon before I do it.

Hello,

There's an issue with the Magtheidon Map, Hellfire Citadel, apparently Magtheidon is made an enemy to the Hellfire Channlers, and thus they attack him at the beginning of the map, leaving me unable to defeat him and finish the quest.

Are you using the latest version of Warcraft 3 (1.31, I mean)?
I think some people said anything that make the whole gameplay altered (like the unit is being classified as enemy or unable to complete the quest) is probably caused by this bug that present in 1.31.

I would say some people had numerous problems when playing this campaign on 1.31 due to the bug I mentioned (Unit Event is no longer functionable).
Although this bug on Chapter 8 is quite strange, having a previous save might be reason the whole gameplay is altered (Someone said he wasn't able to complete Chapter 2 due to the missing items and the boss is classified as enemy instead of neutral).
Aside from this bug, I highly don't suggest using 1.31 because upon completing the map, the game will freeze entirely with black screen and there is no way to fix this problem rather than force-closing the game with Task Manager or restarting your computer.
If you still face this problem, then your only hope is get 1.30.4 from the post above or just download the v1.4 of the campaign instead of this version (if you are still using the older versions of WC3).

Don't use 1.31. There is a high chance the whole gameplay will get altered if you load your previous saves, including the black screen glitch (after exiting the score screen).

I don't know about this Magtheridon bug, but some people had commented me about this problem, especially during the final boss battle.
Maybe it's a problem with the campaign, not the Warcraft version. If so, try downloading an older version one (1.4).

Only latest version is available (2.2.1), but you can still download an older one. Check the first post. There's an attached file (Shadows of Hatred v1.4.w3n).

I killed magteridon but i stuck in chapter 3 warlock part i find maive but i cant kill warlocks becuse they are immue warlocks not taking damage :(

You may have to tweak the boss fights a lil bit. I'm currently in Kael's boss fight, and supposedly you go into a cutscene, classic villain/hero moment before epic battle, but once you go into the cutscene, it skips all of it, and jumps you in the fight immediately, and on top of that. A huge bunch of enemy heroes with tons of aoe's jump at you. Killing your units instantly especially when they're cramped, and then after 2 seconds your heroes share the same fate. But I'm not gonna lie, I like the campaign, especially the build missions. But the boss fights really need some tweaking. Peace out.

Hi, started playing this campaign and after i finished the first mission and started the second mission for some reason my items didn't save, nor the spells i choose, i started the second mission with 0 items on both of my heroes, so yea, pretty bad bug, i tested on both versions 1.30 and 1.31 and the same glitch happens.

Read this advice:
All the versions from 1.30-1.31 basically are carrying a large number of bugs that Blizzard did not solve because they wanted to push through with Reforged quickly. 1.31 is probably the most dangerous, because saving/loading can completely break triggers, among other issues.
1.31 has also black screen bug (after exiting the score screen upon the completion of campaign).
To summarize, 1.30-1.31 has a lot of bugs for custom campaigns, including the vanilla ones.

You should not use 1.31 if you are going to play custom campaigns. Not only the custom campaigns, but technical problems on campaigns can be seen:

If you're not using patch 1.30, then you are bound to encounter tons of bugs. I myself encountered this first hand when I played this campaign for the first time a few months ago. I can't really remember what patch I used to play this, but one thing's for certain it wasn't 1.30. And there it is. I encountered loads of bugs in the Magtheridon dungeon sub map, and I got stuck there unable to move on. So I restarted the whole campaign and played on patch 1.30 after researching where to get it, and everything was working properly.

I'd love to play this campaign on 1.30 but I already have a version with 1.29 and 1.31 can I have a version with 1.30 as well? And if so could someone link me on how to do so as when made the two other versions it was a while ago and that knowledge has left me
