I was fooling around with some spell ideas today and decided to make Shadow Strike into a friendly buff.

I figured you take the damaging values and make them negative thus creating a healing effect. Well theres a problem. The Initial Damage does HEAL the target but the decaying values do not.

My example:
Unit has 3,075 out of 6,150 life
Initial Damage does -1,000
Decaying Damage does -500

Initial cast brings the unit to 4,075 HP
Decay bring it to 3,245
Then to 2,415
Then to 1,585
Then to 755
Then Death

The unit has 0% reduction. Gameplay constants are set 1:1 for everything.

Can anyone tell me why the decay is killing the unit in awkward values when the Initial NEGATIVE value heals?

well instead of doing -500 stuff, put it to 1, u can make a dummy casting heal ability (501 for example, 500+1 of the dmg of the shadow strike :p) to the shadow heal buff unit every X seconds  but I dunno if it work, if it works well... :D:D
Peace
