Hello there, kind modelers of the hive! I am here to request a femal dragon. However, not any female red dragon it is that I happen to be requesting. The Dragonqueen Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Aspect of the Red Dragonflight, the guardian of all life in the world of Azeroth. First, I will give you an accurate literary description. Let the image form in your mind, and then hold it!

The immense dragon is colored a deep, rich red that seems to shimmer and dance before your eyes. The noble head, slender and graceful, seems to regard you with a curious and inquisitive air.

Alright, do you have that image? You do? Ok, good! Now lets compare your image with some of how some artists interpreted her.

And lastly, Blizzards interpretation of it in WoTLK.

Personally, I like the first one the best, but whatever makes you modelers happy. Sure, Im not looking for uber, awesome, Olofmoleman Dragon (Although I wouldnt mind it) detail. Just a more feminine, royal, and powerful (Which includes better wings) red dragon. Somthing that will stand out from the red dragons.

My priority is for it to be a flying version. Fly, stand, attack, and spell. All it needs to be able to do. If you feel you have the time and skill to invest in making a ground version, I would be enternally greatful.

WILL MY MODEL BE USED: The answer is of course, yes. In fact, its already a guarenteed 100% used for the map it will be used in is already out. Here: Twilight of the Gods WoTE (Enhanced) - The Hive Workshop - A Warcraft III Modding Site
Although I do not like to give spoilers, this model will be included in a planed Major Update, or expansion you could call it, that will give it even more exciting gameplay features. Dragons, and the queen dragon, will be included. I will make Twilight of the gods live up to what it could be.

Cheers,

It looks the same as a male dragon... they have no genitalia...

i don't think they have to show them -.-
you think that cuz you are not a dragon, maybe if u were 1, u wouln't think the same, but they doesn't exist, so its hard to make the viewer to interpretate that it is a female dragon.(ex: i thought onyxia was a male, and then i knew that it was a female)

and, nice request asomath, i am in need of a female dragon too :p i need a on-feet one, cuz everyone is flying(or bad animated, if im wrong, show me a dragon ON-FEET decently animated model ^^)!!

hehe. The main goal of this is to have a model created for the Queen of All frikkin dragons. Dont you think the queen of dragons would look diffrent? More Powerful?
BTW, This is Alexstrasza's mate.

Note the diffrences. There are those that would seperate her as the supreme ruler and guardian.

Um, how would a female dragon model look different from a male? >_>

Well, now thats what we were discussing on the first page.

I'm going to be flexible. I do not fully care if it looks feministic anymore, although I would prefer an attempt. I would be satisfied with just some sort of red dragon that would stand out from the other dragons, as a hero. Just a bit of resembleing to Alexstrasza.

A female dragon....
What exactly is the difference between a female dragon and a male dragon? Especially since they are mythical beings that have no predifined sexual characters.

Basically no matter what you do, to a viewer a dragon could be both male or female unless there is a male version of the species that can be used to contrast major body characteristics or coloruing with (as reptile gender is not as easilly told as with mamals).

Such major characteristics could inclued a size difference (the male or even female being bigger than the other gender), a marking difference, a decoration difference (different horn locations or spine shapes) or even body shape.

Again all of these need the opposit gender inorder to be viewer to make them noticable charactistics that only that gender posses as otherwise only through dialogue or actions (would be best to avoid) would a viewer be able to tell a dragons gender.

That was the scientific approch and in the end, weathor a person makes a male of female dragon model, unless the opposit gender model is also included it will be impossiable to tell its gender by simply looking at it so it is not an issue.

However, humans have a psycological ability to give things a gender though looking at human gender difining characteristics. I believe such an example was used with Spyro the dragon and Cynder to generally make humans believe they are of a certain gender. Such affects are like eyelashes, eye shape, clothing, colour, and body design. This however often is highly unscientific and results in characteristics that would not normally evolve but is the only way to give a dragon a fixed gender to a human by looking at it.

Yeah, thats what i'm try to get out of this. She is a dragon aspect, the queen of all dragons, and is going to be a hero in my map. Thats what I need, a red dragon hero, somthing to pop out. I've browsed all the red dragons in the model section, and they seem to be VERY simple model edits of a red dragon.

I will give it a try. I will try to make it look the more female as possible.
(Couldn't resist such a neat and well-done request)
But I'm not one of the best modellers you will find here, actually I am an ordinary one, but I will try to fulfill this.

EDIT: Already started, 5 minutes ago, this is some basic alterations at the head. I think that, if we want the dragon to look female, it should have some human female features, so it would recall a female to us. (Not lipstick or blond long hair, but the shape of the face and the style of animation, also the shoulders being not that thick as they are, and the waist being a bit thicker, looking a lazier queen that has her servants, and less strong and fighting [wtf did I say...])
Hope you like it...
(don't mind the texture and the unwrap, they are gonna more delicate and redone [i mean there are some bugged parts right now])

true. :p And, if you don't mind, I am also interested in this. lol I have often wanted to make Alexstraza but needed to improve my modeling skills. :p It might take a bit of time to make it look awesome though. :p I think a good amount of detail would be efficient (horn bands, etc.) but nothing that would be a large waste of polies like the pendant. D:

I hope this is ok? :p
